My first Deep Blue Terror weekend was a huge success with 7 films watched so far and 3 books! Here I share with you my thoughts on the firstone I looked at.
2 Headed Shark Attack
Survivors from a damaged ship escape to a nearby atoll, after their boat is hit by a two-headed shark. The atoll then begins to flood leaving everyone at the mercy of the sharks.
Starring: Carmen Electra, Brooke Hogan, Charlie O'Connell

An educational boat for students looking to learn something develops a problem when it hits a big shark. The students are ferried to a nearby atoll to look for scrap metal as it might be useful (for what purpose nobody knows when the damage to the boat is welded shut). With a two headed shark in the water, the atoll then starts to sink and somebody needs to finish the boat repairs so they can escape.
Hmm. This is a dreadful film for bad acting! The plot is of course wafer thin with vacant bimbos and oversexed morons. Carmen Electra sways about the whole time wiggling her arse and doing little else, Charlie O'Connell is more wooden than a forest and a few of the background characters with their hysterical screaming and panic get on your nerves after about a minute. There were decent performances from Brooke Hogan, Christina Bach and David Gallegos though.
The worst thing visually was the lack of continuity. For example there are two speedboats in the water a distance apart, next frame they are a metre apart, then back to a distance. Prof notices the atoll sinking...then takes the survivors from the speedboats back to the atoll to be told they are sinking and he frowns and says you might be right. Deary me! The shark effects are a bit strange and the clarity of it is weird, like looking through filters or something. The script is appalling though.
On the bright side however, the shark has plenty students to chomp and mutilate so it was still strangely watchable for shark film fans and you can just laugh at the acting!
Has anyone seen this? What are your thoughts on the film?

I haven't seen this but I love that the shark had plenty of people to munch on. Please tell me Carmen Electra became shark bait because she has always annoyed me!
ReplyDeleteShe definitely dies but I can't recall whether she drowns or get chomped!
Delete7! Wow you're rocking it. I love this- two headed shark. Heck one is bad enough! Carmen Electra lol. It does sound kinda bad but hey with a tub of popcorn you can't go wrong, right?
ReplyDeleteIt's entertaining enough in a b movie kind of way!
DeleteI've seen all of these. LOL Have you watched the five-headed one yet? They got creative with that one.
ReplyDeleteYeah I watched that on Saturday night. I kept thinking 'but it only has four heads!' and then it was 'ah, now I get it!'
DeleteI love these movies. Everything is bad and they must work really hard at making it so. The 5 headed one got me too and I laughed so hard I almost fell off my recliner. lol

When I finally realised where the 5th head was I had to laugh too! I like these kind of films because they are a bit of daft fun for a night!
