Stacking The Shelves is all about
sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical
or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store
or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books,
gifts and of course ebooks! Click on the link under the book to find its page on Goodreads or Smashwords.
Please
note that I always leave a
message on your STS/SP if you visit me, but if you use
DISQUS or a similar third party I will not be able to leave a comment on
your page. I don't allow any company access to my social media accounts
and I certainly don't allow them to edit and take over my accounts. So
if you use DISQUS, I can't visit you! And
sometimes,
I have problems leaving messages on blogs hosted by
Wordpress so you might get a double message sometimes! Blame them, not
me!
As most of you know, I decided to take a ten day blog break. My dad had been telling me to take a break and suggested the week leading up to the Black Friday sales which sounded like a good idea. I had no idea that he had booked a winter break at a lakeside lodge in the Lake District and he sprung it on me two days before we were to leave which led to panic packing and shopping as the lodge is self catering! I thought he was mad because the UK has been hit with winter storms all month but we got lucky that last week was calm-cold but mostly dry so we got a ton of sightseeing done and it was GREAT! I'll be doing some blog posts about all the great places we visited hopefully starting tomorrow if I get caught up with all the washing and ironing!
Then when I got home yesterday it was staight on to Amazon to grab some bargains in the Black Friday sales! Ooh I got some great stuff which will be in another post maybe tomorrow. I'd saved for it all year and I'm happy with what I got! So it was an exciting homecoming and I'll be browsing all weekend in case anything else comes up!
While I was away I got a bit of reading done but not as much as I had hoped-too busy having fun though! I plan to get back to normal reading tonight now that I'm unpacked and settled in-but I had a great time and feel quite good, ready to get back into blogging! So it all worked out great! The downloads and books bought are from the days before I left for my holiday.

The authors saw that I had reviewed and liked a short story in the series and asked me if I would be interested in reviewing more of the series. I was excited to say yes and they kindly sent me the first three novels AND a book with all the short stories! They were so generous to send four paperbacks across the Atlantic to the UK and I can't wait to read them! Thank you very much to JW Vohs and family!
