Autumn Blues #4
Top Ten Tuesday-Ten Horror Books With Dangerous Trips #4
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish
in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of
2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to
bring bookish friends together. http://www.thatartsyreadergirl.com/top-ten-tuesday/
NB: I don't follow or leave comments on blogs run by
Google Plus, or DISQUS as I refuse to join something just to leave
comments, and I won't allow them to follow new people, update my

Since it's October, I'll go with a horror theme and ten books I want to read that feature dangerous trips, part 4!
It's Mankind versus Bugkind, and the collective mind of The Swarm.

The Best Werewolf & Shifter Books #2
Ever since the underground scene in An American Werewolf In London, I've been fascinated and scared of werewolves! Fascination has led me to read a ton of books about werewolves and other shifters so here are some to enjoy!
Please remember that these are individual books that I enjoyed, either stand-alone or the first book in a series. I gave each 3 stars or above. I may have DNFed the series at some point or not finished/caught up with it for many resources. This list is to give an idea of what shifter books are out there to try.
Mercy is a mechanic who happens to be a coyote shapeshifter. She lives beside the house of Alpha werewolf Adam and his daughter. Life is normal other than winding Adam up, until she witnesses a brutal attack on a kid she is employing at the garage. Then Adam is badly injured in a wolf attack at his house and his daughter is kidnapped. Mercy has to save Adam and help the pack find the missing girl.
Scarlett was injured defending her sister Rosie in a werewolf attack that killed their grandmother. Now she lives only to hunt and kill these monsters with her friend Silas. Rosie owes her sister and has trained to follow in her footsteps but she wants a life outside of hunting. Girls are being killed more regularly and Scarlett is determined to kill those responsible in the city but Rosie and Silas are distracted by their feelings for each other.
Kitty Norville is a werewolf and a night DJ at a radio station. On a night when she is bored, she starts talking about whether the supernatural Bat Boy exists and suddenly she has an ever increasing audience, some interested in the supernatural and others claiming to be supernatural creatures. However, while her boss is delighted with the viewing figures, her local Pack and the Master Vampire are not happy about the exposure of their world. Someone has hired a bounty hunter to kill Kitty and with the added problems of a rogue werewolf on the loose, and fanatics trying to 'cure' vampires and werewolves, Kitty needs to work out who she can trust.
The Best Vampire Books #2
Vampires have been a huge part of horror for years and here are a list of books with vampires of all kinds! Please note, these are stand-alone or first in a series. I liked all of them when I read them, giving them 3 stars and above. please note I may not have finished the series or DNFed it for several reasons. This list is to give you a look at some of the vampire options out there and a link to multiple reviews of them so you can choose for yourself.
Halloween is coming, and an ancient evil is on the horizon. The vampires are the good guys.
This is not your ordinary fall weekend in Charlotte, North Carolina. Vampire private detectives Jimmy Black and Greg Knightwood have been hired to save a client from being cursed for all eternity, but end up in a bigger mess than they ever imagined. Suddenly trapped in the middle of a serial kidnapping case, Jimmy and Greg uncover a plot to bring forth an ancient evil. Soon, they've enlisted the help of a police detective, a priest, a witch, a fallen angel and a strip club proprietor to save the world. This unlikely band of heroes battles zombies, witches, neuroses and sunburn while cracking jokes and looking for the perfect bag of O-negative.
The Best Zombie Books #3
ZOMBIES! You can never have too many in your life unless they are chasing you for your brains of course...Anyway, here is my updated list of great zombie books I've read and series that I've started.
1) Eli Constant/BV Barr-Awakening (Z Children #1)
All over America, children aged between four and six have been going to get their regular vaccines at hospitals and doctor clinics. Now they are returning to their medical examiners with strange flu like systems that are concerning their parents. Without warning, the kids suddenly turn aggressive and show a zombie like mentality, biting and killing adults. The adults are infected and turn into slow shambling wrecks who sadly retain a small sense of what has happened to them and who act as guards and lookouts for their fast young beasts who can move at frightening speed to bring down new victims. Those who have survived the start of this zombie apocalypse now need to find safety and escape the little monsters who are everywhere.
Eddie and Simone are preppers with a survival store in town and a ranch to move to nearby if things get bad where he previously has run free survival classes to teach others from miles around the skills they need. Now he gets word of a zombie plague being caused by faulty injections given to military personnel at their bases and it is spreading out of control. It's time to tell friends and family to pack everything and get to the safety of his ranch before the zombies start showing up in town.
3) Wren Cavanagh-The Last Flag

5) Ann Christy-The In-Betweener (Between Life And Death #1)
Two years ago a new medical nanite advance divided humanity into three types: humans, deaders and the frightening in-betweeners who crave human flesh. Emily's world has grown quiet and ordered, her day bounded by mornings killing deaders at her fence and nights alone in a warehouse office. She's begun to believe life will always be this way, days alone with the dead or fighting in-betweeners for her life. But even that life is better than the alternative. Everything changes when one of the deaders at the gate isn't a deader at all. He’s an in-betweener different from any Emily has seen before...and he has a message.
6) Shawn Chesser-Trudge (Surviving the Zombie Apocalypse #1)
Cade isn't paying much attention to outbreak reports in the media until his neighbours Ted and Lisa are trying to eat him. He arranges to meet his family at a military base and starts on his journey, meeting up with other survivors fleeing the area, while his family get out on their own dangerous road trip. But the dead are going to be the least of their problems.

With things getting out of control, Joe and his friends have no option but to abandon their stations and find a way back to their families.
