Stacking the Shelves #110

Stacking the Shelves is a meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews
Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! Click on the link under the book to find its page on Goodreads or Smashwords.

Please note that I always leave a message on your STS/SP if you visit me, but if you use DISQUS or a similar third party I will not be able to leave a comment on your page. I don't allow any company access to my social media accounts and I certainly don't allow them to edit and take over my accounts. So if you use DISQUS, I can't visit you! And sometimes, I have problems leaving messages on blogs hosted by Wordpress so you might get a double message sometimes! Blame them, not me!

It hasn't been a greatly productive week-a lot of annoying hassles that don't generally matter too much but when you get them all at once they drive you mad. I didn't get as much reading done as I'd have liked but I did do some. This week's haul includes more of my autumn splurging which shows you how much I grabbed in the sales, plus a few gifts to myself bought this week! I grabbed a couple of Jaye Wells short stories which will be handy when I get to reading the whole Sabina Kane series. And of course zombies! I've already read Hidden in a Kelley Armstrong anthology but I love the cover and artwork of these hardback novellas and it cheap secondhand!

    1. I didn't fancy the film much but the book blurb sounded much more interesting. I guess I'll read the book and then decide on the film!

  3. I'll be curious to see what you think of Spider's-Trap as that's one series I've wanted to read. Under A Graveyard Sky was an interesting read, but the characters were a bit over-the-top.

    1. It'll be a while before I get to Spider's Trap...so far I've only read the first book in the series! I have a lot of catching up to do! I've seen mixed reviews of Under a graveyard sky but as long as I don't hate the characters I hope it will be ok!

  4. I really enjoy Gayle Forman, because her stories don't include a lot of the drama that can be present in many NA stories. I hope you'll enjoy both Where She Went and I Was Here, Chuckles!
    Have a wonderful weekend.

    1. They're not my normal kind of reads but I felt like getting some different things to try. Years ago I used to read a lot of contemporary books but then narrowed my reading to my favourite genres. Now I'm branching out again!

    1. It could be a year before I get to Spider's Trap as I've only read book one in the series so far! I'm hoping that Silver Linings Playbook turns out to be my kind of read as the blurb sounds interesting.

  7. I really enjoyed "Landline". I know a lot of the Rowell fans were sort of ambivalent towards it but I thought it was a really cool story. Happy reading!

  8. You have some great books here, because they not just look good but they also sound amazing. Now imagine my TBR growing even more :)) I need a second life just for reading all the books I want. Can't wait to see what you think of them!

    Happy reading!

    1. Yeah I need more reading time too...could be time for a complete blog break. It might keep me off Amazon until Black Friday!

    1. For some reason I thought the book sounded better than the film! When I get to the book I'll decide on the film then!

  10. WOW, what a TERRIFIC haul!!! I need to check out all of these books, but they all look like great reading, just from the covers! Thanks for the Goodreads links!! I'm especially attracted to your downloads, and "Under a Graveyard Sky".

Hope you enjoy all your new books!!

    1. I like to put the Goodreads link so that it is easier to check out the book instead of having to either write down all the great sounding books or keep going back and forward to different sites!

  11. I love the cover on Ways to Live Forever. I've read Landline but liked some of her others better. I found Georgie, the MC, somewhat annoying. Hope you have a great reading week!

    1. If you find her annoying I bet I hate her guts! It's something that causes me to DNF a lot of books-annoying MCs! Still we'll see how I get on!

  12. Have you been buying more books from Amazon's 3 for £10???????

That crazy guy who you had in your post the other day had a full age spread in either The Sunday Mail or the Sun on Sunday, he is totally crazy!

    Have a great week!

    1. The four contemporary books are from the last Amazon splurge a few weeks back-that is me finally getting the last of them uploaded! I've still got a few downloads from the last two weeks to put up and a box of books that arrived this week from Amazon *ahem* Well, they were cheap and secondhand!

  15. It's annoying when you get all those small hassles in one week. I actually bought Hidden when it just got released and before I knew it would be in an anthology, it's definitely nice if you can those books for cheap secondhand as they are pretty pricey. Enjoy your new books and have a great week!

    1. Hidden was the only one I hadn't bought in hardback but I wasn't happy to see that it was in a later anthology as I guess that means the other anthologies might have one as well. Still this was through Better World Books in the USA and it cost me £2.81 including postage. Bargain! I so love the cover!
