Chuckles Cover Love #34

If there is one thing that makes a great book even better, it is when it has a cover that we love! The cover design is what catches the eye as we browse through a bookstore shelf or check out the Amazon or Goodreads recommendations. The right cover makes me look closer at a book, to read the blurb and maybe make a purchase. A poor cover might mean I never look at the blurb at all.

I haven't read anything of Sarah J Maas despite people raving about it but then I don't read much fantasy. I do however, love fantasy book covers and the first books in this series are pretty!

Then we seem to move to new covers...maybe a change of character or something. I still like it though not as much as the others, but it doesn't of course match the first five.

  1. I've always like the Heir of fire cover, probably because of the green. And I like Tower of Dawn too, it's different from the other ones but yeah- I like it.

    1. Fantasy books always have such a great range of different covers. I loved the colours on these books. Rally love the green!

  2. I own at least one book in this series - maybe two. Never started them though. I do love the covers but I have to be honest, I like the looks of the newest one the best and wished the rest were styled like it. Call me crazy because I know people love the first ones shown.

    1. I think both cover designs have their merits. If they all looked one way or the other I'd be ok with that.

  4. She does have some exciting covers and I've read a lot of rave reviews for her books. I even own one but haven't got to it yet.

    1. Really love the range of colours used on the covers. Pretty! Looks like a few of us still have to try the author...

  5. I like the painted covers a lot too. I remember the original cover for Throne of Glass which was really plain and featured the generic "close up of a girl" layout. These are definitely much better. And the cover of Tower of Dawn is quite beautiful too even if it doesn't match. Since the story is supposed to be about Chaol though, which sets is somewhat "apart" from the rest of the series, maybe the different design is supposed to reflect that.

    1. I never like boring covers with just a face on it...that kind of lacks imagination for me and it wouldn't make me pick the book up. I prefer both designs here to that. I suppose as long as people enjoy the book most won't bother too much about a different style of cover.

    1. I'm not 100% sure but I think it is a change of MC for this book so I guess they decided not to use the woman on the cover. Might've been nice to have a male character with the same design as the first books.

  7. I haven't read any Sarah Mass yet....and I agree with Jennifer. Why change something that's working?

    1. I wonder why they didn't use the same style and just put a man on the cover instead...seems a bit strange.

  8. I haven't read this series yet but plan to. I do like the covers but wish they would have kept the same style for the newest one.

  9. I haven't read this series yet either, but I do like the covers. I agree that the last cover is interesting even though it doesn't match exactly.
