Welcome to my feature Chuckles Weekend Roundup where I will be looking at what books I've received, anything interesting I've done or bought or watched and other random stuff. I'll be taking a look back at what happened in my blogging world too, sort of like The Sunday Post that some of you do!
Please note that I'll be visiting your STS/SP as normal, but I don't follow or leave comments on blogs run by Google Plus, or DISQUS as I refuse to join something just to leave comments, and I won't allow DISQUS to follow new people, update my profile or post tweets 'on my behalf'. I am the only one who does that on my social media! I won't comment on any blog that makes me sign in using another account. Sometimes, I have problems leaving messages on blogs hosted by Wordpress-they try to block me because I deleted my account with them but I will persevere as it only happens the odd time!

Here we are going towards the end of another month and Winter is here for sure! It's really cold so I'm glad to have the gas fire in the living room and the electric heaters in the two bedrooms. Brr! Going to the loo in the middle of the night is not a lot of fun though but others have it way worse so I'm not complaining. This week overall has been a bit up and down with high stress but getting some TV and films watched, and a bit of reading for SciFi month. I'm happy enough with progress although I'm not setting the heather on fire or anything!
I've got in a few books from the friend of my neighbour that I asked for and a few I got for myself. My dad got Fitzy autographed by the man himself in a shopping centre signing and it was also signed by fellow footballer Frank McAvennie. I still have a package to come before next week but I have bought my last books until January as I'm going onto a book ban this winter! That is the plan anyway and I intend to try really hard! I explain all that in my posts this weekend concerning my TBR!

Currently Reading/Up Next
I'm finishing up the Future Shock Trilogy which I felt the urge to read first and I've been enjoying it a lot. The next things on the list are probably the Testing trilogy, Illuminae and Becky Chambers but that might yet change!
The temps range anywhere from 25 at night to sometimes mid 50's during the day and sometimes really cold. It's like it can't make up its mind and I can't get adjusted. However, you are right, lots of people have it worse. Looks like you got lots of books to keep you warm though. I've always contemplated giving the Red Rising books a try. Have a great weekend!

DeleteMy book week was a fail. I wasn't in the mood to read, then when I was - I didn't have time. And of course all my library holds happened to come in at the same time. I'm going to try to get those in this weekend before I need to return them.

Typical that the library books all come in at the same time when you don't want to deal with them! The Laws of Sod and Murphy as my gran used to say!

DeleteIt has been going from snow to really nice weather here. I don't know what to expect from day to day. I need to put myself on a book ban but I don't know if I could do it. I see that you added the Red Rising series. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Have a great week!

DeleteThat Comey book...I am so torn on it. It's like he is trying to absolve himself from his role in this mess, and when people don't take responsibility for something they had a hand it, it is incredibly annoying. I still have not written my review for it, though I read it a few months ago now.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you about Comey. I was reluctant to buy it for that reason but getting it free is a whole different matter!

DeleteI hate getting up at night! We keep it cold in the house at night and it's all I can do not to run to get back in my warm bed. So many books! Enjoy them and have a great week!
