Stacking The Shelves is all about
sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical
or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store
or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books,
gifts and of course ebooks! Click on the link under the book to find its page on Goodreads or Smashwords.
Please note that I always leave a
message on your STS/SP if you visit me, but if you use
DISQUS or a similar third party I will not be able to leave a comment on your page. And
sometimes,
I have problems leaving messages on blogs hosted by
Wordpress so you might get a double message sometimes! Blame them, not me!
This week was a real grind, I can tell you! I hate heat and humidity and this week we had both, making it too hot to get much done without drowning in sweat! Ugh! I didn't have the time to get any real blogging done and the tidying of the house will continue next week if its cooler. This morning it is cool and raining which made me very happy! I'm so much a winter person!
Happily, I did manage to get some reading done. I was tackling the horror tbrs and I wasn't impressed by any of them so they will be going to the charity shop next week. It means a whole pile off the tbr which helps my challenge. I'll be posting my latest progress tomorrow. I've also been amusing myself by watching episodes of Coronation Street from 1976 which has been a lot of fun. And the excitement is building with just a few days left until the Ashes get started!
BOUGHT PAPERBACKS:

I hope you'll enjoy the Mercy Thompson series, Chuckles! I love that one so much - Mercy is a very strong protagonist, and she knows how to take care of herself.
ReplyDeleteI hope you'll get some cooler weather next week, it's not fun when it's so warm you start sweating just by thinking of going outside.
Have a great week ahead and happy reading.

This is the Alpha & Omega series that I've just bought to get started on. I've already read the Mercy Thompson series so far. Looking forward to getting my hands on that joint anthology later this year though!
DeleteI've heard good things about Briggs but have yet to give her a read. Nassise is always a great read.
ReplyDeleteI've got three of his books ready to try-I like the fact that all three series are totally different sounding. I'm looking forward to reading them!
DeleteI really love the Alpha and Omega series. I'm a little behind on them though. Happy reading!

I'm glad I decided to give the series a second chance now that I know a lot more about Mercy's world! I hope to read the rest of this series in the autumn!
DeleteI really need to get round to reading Patricia Briggs' work... Gah, so many books! I'm curious about Eyes to See, as well. Hope you enjoy!

I love the Mercy Thompson series and can't wait for the new anthology coming out! I only heard about Joseph Nassise recently but his books sound really interesting!
DeleteSorry about the weather for you. I live in NH so even in the summers we are lucky to get above 90. Paricia Briggs is a great author. Hope you enjoy your new reads.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing and for check out my STS earlier.

Usually the climate in Cental Scotland suits me...mild most of the time instead of the extremes of hot and cold that America gets! But when the humid days come, it is horrible!!!
DeleteYAY! Patricia Briggs! Good stuff! I'm not a summer person either, but I prefer Fall/Autumn. Nice cool weather, crispy leaves and apple cider donuts. I can't wait until fall. I'm over this heat. Have a great week! Happy reading!

Yeah, nice cool autumn days with a big mug of hot chocolate, watching the rain slide down the window and curling up with a good book! I'm counting the days already! Ooh, cider apple donuts...I like the sound of them...!
DeleteI love Patricia Briggs! Enjoy!

I am sooo looking forward to getting my hands on the paperback anthology soon!
DeleteI haven't read anything by Patricia Briggs yet but I feel like I should! I've heard great things about her books.
ReplyDeleteShe does great characters and exciting plots...one of my top five urban fantasy authors for sure!
DeleteGreat haul! I definitely need to start reading Patricia Briggs's books. I've heard tons of great things and I think I'd probably enjoy them.
ReplyDeleteKrystianna @ Downright Dystopian
She was one of the authors that really got me into urban fantasy, along with Kelley Armstrong, Jeaniene Frost and Charlaine Harris. I can't wait for more Mercy Thompson books!
DeleteGood for you for being able to get rid of books though! I have so much trouble. >_< Even if I dislike them they're still pretty and I want to keep them. heeh. Hope the weather isn't too unbearable for long.*shivers* I AM FREEZING. I'll trade you. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't have the space to keep everything I buy! I just keep the ones I'd read again and the rest go to be traded, gifted through bookcrossing or donated to charity shops. I'll certainly swap our humid days for your cold ones! Mind you, our humid days would feel cold to people in the US!
DeleteI love Briggs but I confess that I'm not a big fan of this particular series... happy reading!
ReplyDeleteI'm hopng I like it but I doubt I could love it as much as Mercy Thompson!
DeletePatricia Briggs is always a good call.
ReplyDeleteShe's written some really great books hasn't she!
DeleteI need to get to Brigg's series. *sigh* I'm terrible with the series I've already got going to try and start a new one.
ReplyDeleteHope the humidity calms some for you. We've been terrible here with it as well. Have a good week!
There are just so many great sounding series out there that you don't know what to grab next! I'm trying to get through the books that I have doubts about based on Goodreads reviews...hopefully later in the year that will leave me with just the series I really want to read...well, that's the current plan!
DeleteYay for Patricia Briggs' books! Eyes to See looks like it might be interesting. I hope your reading is better this week than last! Happy Reading!
ReplyDeleteHere are my newest additions.
I've managed to complete a couple of books already this week and one was a 4 star read-yea! When I'll get round to reviewing it is another matter!
