Stacking the Shelves #102

Stacking the Shelves is a meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews
Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! Click on the link under the book to find its page on Goodreads or Smashwords.

Please note that I always leave a message on your STS/SP if you visit me, but if you use DISQUS or a similar third party I will not be able to leave a comment on your page. And sometimes, I have problems leaving messages on blogs hosted by Wordpress so you might get a double message sometimes! Blame them, not me!

First whole week back after the holiday and I don't feel as if I've been away! Washing, ironing, back to cleaning and making meals...bah! I need another holiday already! Still, at least the reading slump is over. Last night I reached my target for the Goodreads reading challenge and finished book 200, which was good. Now lets see how many more I read before the year end! I also decided to take the plunge and buy an adult colouring book, and I admit that it was fun to colour my first flower with glittery gel pens! Should be good therapy! I had a look at the range of colouring books out there and was surprised by the variety! AND I noticed a Harry Potter one is due for release ready for Christmas! I'll be grabbing THAT! So that, and getting my free flu jag has been the excitement for this week!

  1. That's funny - my wife and I have picked up a few adult coloring books ourselves, just for something different to do together.

    1. Sounds like a good way to relax together if you don't fight over the colours!

  2. YAY, you got a color-book! I have started that craze, too... I mostly color while I'm listening to an audiobook, it helps me really listen :)
Warm bodies looks good, too. I hope you'll enjoy your new books.
Have a wonderful weekend and happy reading.

    1. Thanks for telling me about the broken link-I have it fixed now! Ugh, I hope I didn't lose too many people trying to visit! That's what happens when I'm in a rush and miss out a letter in the blog title!

    1. It certainly looked like an adult one-I'm already planning colours for Buckbeak! I've seen Tattoo designs, zombies, Doctor Who, geometric patterns...all sorts of colouring books on Amazon! There will be some on my STS next week!

  6. Nice haul! I have Sister Queens to read too... someday. Heh.

I'm loving the colouring book phase at the moment, there's so many options! Millie Marotta's are a bit too finicky for me to enjoy, but I'm enjoying the "Creative Colouring for Grown-ups" ones, especially the Japanese pattern one.

    1. You always need zombies on a STS I say! I never get tired of reading about zombies even if the plots are all the same!

    1. I think the person who did the first adult colouring book really hit a great idea. Most people I know are either colouring or thinking about it! I was pleased to reach the 200-hope I can get through a few more before December!

  12. I hate that busy feeling when you get back from vacation. That's neat you got a colouring book as well! It's really amazing how many colouring books are out there. It can be hard to decide which ones to buy. The colouring book you got looks fun, could you share a picture of the colouring you did? It sounds nice with those glitter pens!

    1. I'll try and remember to take some photos next time I charge my camera up. I'm not sure if you'll see the effect of the glitter in the photos but it does look nice when I turn it to the light! I need more practice in colour combinations before I tackle those big complex designs!

  13. Nice haul! Gotta love the zombies! Yay, for your reading slump being over. I've kind of been in one myself lately, but it's mostly because I have so much going on in my non-book life. I hope you enjoy your new books!

    1. It wouldn't be a good haul without the zombies! It's a relief to be out of the reading slump. I'm tackling some historical fiction this week to try and clear a few that have been sitting too long!

  14. Wow! 200 books is so impressive! Where do you find the time?? I definitely have my work cut out for me if I'm going to catch up to the level of some of you reading junkies! :P Enjoy your books and have a fantastic week!

    Here's my Weekly Recap

    1. I only read from 6pm until I go to bed as I don't have time to read during the day! I wish I had more time! In the 200 are full length books, a few graphic novels, a pile of novellas and short stories. So it's not 200 books of 300+ pages. I hope to get a few more done by the end of the year!

    1. I grabbed The Enchanted Forest and The Secret Garden today when I saw them reduced at the supermarket! I've got enough colouring books to cover me up to and during the zombie apocalypse if the gel pens don't run out...

  16. Tropical Wonderland is a good choice, there are so many colouring books out there. There is a Doctor Who and Sherlock one coming out soon too. I have too many, I seem to have forgotten I can only do one book at a time.

    Have a fab week!
