I admit that I'm a little disappointed that I didn't watch more films this year for the first time, but I am pleased that I saw some good ones! The best three are...
I liked Jurassic World as well. I thought The Maze Runner was good to even though I've never read the books. TFIOS drove me nuts and I preferred the best friend to either of the two main characters.
I quit reading The Maze Runner close to halfway through-it looks like I stopped just as the action was about to kick off! I'm in two minds about giving the book another try as I really enjoyed the film.
I thought Silver Linings Playbook was fantastic! I have not read the book, so I don't know if it was a good adaptation, but I really enjoyed the movie. TFioS left me a hot mess. I started crying and didn't stop at about the same point I did while I read the book. Very good casting, and I was glad they changed a few things, because it would have been brutal to see some of what I read.
The book was really good too. It was way out of my comfort zone but I liked it and I really enjoyed the film. I cried LOADS at TFIOS. The only bit about the book and film I didn't like was the author sideplot.
Tom Hanks is a really great actor. I've enjoyed pretty much everything I've seen him in other than his early 80's comedy stuff as that just wasn't my thing. I love Apollo 13!

ReplyDeleteI'm a big Abba fan so Mamma Mia was a must for me to watch! A lot of my favourite actors are in it too. SLP was so well acted!
