Can't Wait Wednesday-Coulrophobia

Can't Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted at http://www.wishfulendings.com/ to spotlight and discuss books we're excited about but haven't read, which may not even be released yet.

NB: I don't follow or leave comments on blogs run by Google Plus, or DISQUS as I refuse to join something just to leave comments, and I won't allow them to follow new people, update my profile or post tweets 'on my behalf'. I won't comment on any blog that makes me sign in using another account.

Skyler is a nurse in a mental hospital, which is never a dull job. She spends years working with all kinds of patients, trying to help them the best that she can. One day it becomes even more interesting when Judy is admitted. Judy thinks she is haunted by an evil clown named Sparklez who told Judy to murder her entire family. Judy did so with great brutality.

Now, she must live out her days in the institution. Something about Judy bothers Skyler. Skyler is already terrified of clowns and doesn’t know what to make of it when Sparklez begins appearing to her. Will she too fall victim to the evil clown’s tricks, or will she overcome her Coulrophobia?

As a kid I was always scared of clowns and never wanted to go anywhere near a circus. After being introduced to Pennywise by Stephen King, I really hated clowns and those idiots who go out as scary clowns to upset people. But I love reading about them in horror so this is on my list! I already have Clown Night by the author and this was released in April so I must grab it!

  1. If some scary clown thingy told me to go kill my family, I think I'd rather go find an exorcist or something. Why in the world would ANYONE do what a clown tells them to?

Probably one of the reasons I don't read much horror :-)

......and it seems that my wordpress comment didn't go through. Man, blogger offers all these ways to comment but so far in the years I've been using wordpress and commenting on blogger, I've had about a 10% success rate.
All of that to say, while I crosspost my reviews on blogger, I'm active on wordpress. And, considering your "don't follow x, y or z", I think this profile shows up as a google+ account instead of a straight up blogger account. So all of that just to explain why my comments might be from all over the place. gotta figure out what works best here.

    Cheers!

    1. All comments are held until I moderate them which can sometimes mean the next day, depending on how busy things are. That'll be why you thought your first comment didn't go through. Don't worry about it though...the more comments the better! *grins*

This shouldn't be showing up as a Google+ account as I'm not a member of that. Thanks for the heads up, I better check that out...

    2. Thanks for that. I didn't see the "your comment will be held for moderation" the first time around.

And glad you like lots of comments :-)

    1. I didn't know that either but the word phobia usually means a good scary read! Pennywise was such a great monster creation...I so much need to reread it and get the film watched!

    2. Good, because I cuss like a sailor and half the time don't even realize I'm doing it. Today to church I wore my 'I love Jesus but I cuss a little' shirt. It was a hit! I'm not sure if it was because it is a funny shirt, or if it is true on me, or both. Probably both.

    3. I love the idea of that shirt! I'm pretty relaxed about language on the blog and in the comments so no worries there!

  10. Yikes! I don't really have a fear of clowns or anything like that, but that cover is terrifying! I'll probably stay away for my own good :D
