Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created here at The Broke and the Bookish in June 2010. This feature was created because we are particularly fond of lists here at The Broke and the Bookish. We'd love to share our lists with other bookish folks and would LOVE to see your top ten lists!  http://www.brokeandbookish.com/

NB: I don't follow or leave comments on blogs run by Google Plus, or DISQUS as I refuse to join something just to leave comments, and I won't allow them to follow new people, update my profile or post tweets 'on my behalf'. I won't comment on any blog that makes me sign in using another account.

This week is about autunm covers which don't really feature on my books and is too time consuming so it's another topic of my own. This week I'm doing Ten Books I plan to read this month.

1) George RR Martin-A Storm of Swords
I've already started reading this one but keep getting distracted by TV! I started this book at the end of September so by the time I post this I hope to be about finished with it. It's just as easy to read as the other two I've read so far.

2) Jack Kilborn-Endurance
I've loved the first two books I've read in this Afraid series and I look forward to getting stuck into this one soon. I do like a gory and disturbing read in October!

3) Keith RA DeCandido-Resident Evil Extinction
Alice is back! I've very much enjoyed the previous two books written by this author based on the films so I hope to like this one too. Plan to read it then watch the film!

4) Hunter Shea-Megalodon in Paradise
I plan to read this shark story as it sounds great but I like this author and if things go well, I want to get a few more of his books read this month!

5) Jon Athan-Cannibal Creek
This has a Texas Chainsaw Massacre vibe to me-the cannibals, the hitchhiker, the woods so it was the perfect choice for horror month. Love the sound of this!

6) James Herbert-The Rats
I read and loved this book when I first read it but need to write a review of it. It seems like the perfect excuse for a reread in horror month!

7) Richard Laymon-Amara
One of the last two Laymons I have to read. I've saved them up for years and hopefully this will be the time to get at least one of them read!

8) Michael Stephen Fuchs-Carnage
This is book 12 in the brilliant Arisen series and I plan to read this one as the last book comes out very soon. I'm nervous, excited and scared for my favourite characters!

9) Rachel Caine-Daylighters
I need to deal with this last book in the Morganville Vampires series and the Midnight Bites anthology. I've been working on it all year!

10) Eli Constant-Dead Trees 2
I really enjoyed the first book and have waited several years to get to this sequel. There are other books by the author that I also want to get to soon.

  1. Looks like you have some great books planned. I featured Amara on my list of Halloween books today. I KNEW I saw it here! I'm really curious about your thoughts on the Hunter Shea book. I love his stuff so much and you can always count on people dying. Hope you get lots of reading done!

    1. Sadly I haven't read any except Rats so far. I'm really struggling at the moment! The ironic thing is I'm enjoying the Game of Thrones book but I just can't seem to get reading at all! Grrr!

  2. I wish I could get through 10 books in a month. lol. I'd like to try other works by Keith RA DeCandido. I listened to his one book but haven't tried anything else. I should add that to my list. :) Hope you enjoy them all!

    1. I've very much enjoyed his Resident Evil novels so far!

  3. Storm of Swords was always my favourite book of the series! I read it on holiday in Spain ages ago and once got so surprised I accidentally through it away and it almost landed in the pool!! I will never forget that :D

Hope you get to all of your books :)

    1. I'm enjoying Storm of Swords part one-should finish it shortly! I'm way behind on my horror books for the month though.
