Film Review: Sharknado 5

My first Deep Blue Terror weekend was a huge success with 7 films watched and 3 books! The next weekend I looked at five films. Last weekend I watched another five and plan a few for tonight. Here I share with you my thoughts on another one I looked at.

Starring Ian Ziering, Tara Reid, Cassie Scerbo, Masiela Lusha,

Fin, April and Gil are in London for a UN gathering which of course is disrupted by the arrival of a sharknado, bringing chaos to the city. Gil, wearing a prototype shark defence weapon is sucked up into the sharknado and his parents need to track the storms around the world to save him.

While I still found this film entertaining, I thought it was the weakest of the films so far because of the constant emphasis of finding and losing Gil over and over at the expense of the supporting cast. That's not to say that there weren't fun bits. I liked Nova and Fin going to do a Raiders of the Lost Ark scene at Stonehenge and it was amusing to see a pile of British celebrities in this one, that some US viewers might not know. I loved the scene on the bridge with Olympic diver Tom Daley! Having the carnage start in London this time was fun though as usual they make the PM way too posh for reality with the overdone accent.

If you are looking for a semi-believable plot, well not this film as it goes into the realms of science fiction with teleportation by sharknado but it is still fun.

    1. Ian is producing the later films and he must still enjoy acting in them so maybe we'll get another pile! There is to be a sixth at least.

  3. I have only watched the first Sharknado movie and didn't even know that there were this many of them. I had fun with the first one and I am happy to hear that you thought this was fun too.
