TBR 100 Book Countdown Challenge (510-504)

My tbr managed to sneak up over 600 books again and action was taken!!! So I am setting myself a tough challenge-to get that tbr from 612 as it stands today, down to 500 books by December 31st. Yes it is an impossible sounding task but not everything on the tbr is full length reading-there are short stories, novellas and novels to be devoured! Even if I don't get to the target, I'll be pleased if I get close. It would be the first time in 5 years that my tbr was 500 or less! My updates on my progress won't be weekly, just whenever I have something to report! Anyone who wants to try and reduce their tbr is welcome to post on my update posts about their progress!

FYI: A few people have asked why the number of books I've reduced the pile by in the post title does not match the number of books I mention in the actual blog post. Simple really, I'm still adding new books to the tbr each week, and a few are rereads.

***NEARLY THERE! Next week I should hit my target of 500 with any luck and I'm so pleased about it! I've been wallowing in self pity because of viral infections and wallowing in zombie books most of the week, so I guess it has been quite productive!  I think I might need to give myself a non book treat! I'll need to think that over...So here is what I looked at this week***

James R Tuck-That Thing at the Zoo

  1. I think I have That Thing at the Zoo. Couldn't pass up the cover. Sorry you have been under the weather, but congrats on working on your TBR goal. Mine keeps growing so I am envious of your plan. I just have issues DNF'ing books (wish I could but I find it really hard) so your plan would take a lot longer for me to accomplish.

    1. That thing at the zoo was a good short story...based on it I bought the three novels in the series and look forward to getting stuck into them!

I'm lucky that I can just DNF a book and not give it another must be really tough to continue with books that aren't keeping you fully entertained. You have my sympathy there! As for the tbr, well I've been feeling all pleased about being so close to the goal then realising I STILL have 500 actual bought/downloaded books still to read! Didn't feel so good after that! *giggles* Still, I'm slowly getting there...!

  2. Oh you didn't finish Dead Things. I have it here, but from what I heard of it, I thought you might have liked it. But on we go. :)

Congrats on getting through more books!

    1. Yeah the story sounded good but I just can't tolerate 'heroes' who like getting drunk and taking drugs all the time!

  3. I am so impressed you managed to get your to-read list down to 500 almost. I really have to recheck my to-read list once and remove some I no longer plan to read. I hope you manage to reach your goal this week :)

    1. I'm hoping to get another couple of books looked at before Sunday to hit that magic number!

  4. You're doing good Chuckles! You'd be disappointed in me this week :P I thought I've bought ALL my books this week, lol. I can't help it, I discovered Terry Pratchett's Discworld and I'm totally addicted. To be fair, it started off with a few I already had on my Kindle so... *sigh*... you know?
Keep up the good work! :D *and get well soon!*
    Amy x

    1. That always happens! You're going along doing welll...and then you discover a new series or author and you MUST get all their books, then your tbr goes into orbit!!! It happens to me all the time! Still, think of the hours of fun you'll get out of the books and it'll look better!

I don't know why I'm so smug about hitting the 500 still leaves me 500 books to read! *groans*
