Stacking the Shelves #67

Stacking the Shelves is a meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews
Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! Click on the link under the book to find its page on Goodreads or Smashwords.

Please note that I always leave a message on your STS/SP if you visit me, but if you use DISQUS or a similar third party I will not be able to leave a comment on your page. And sometimes, I have problems leaving messages on blogs hosted by Wordpress.

This was a busier week for getting hold of books which bumps up the tbr slightly but I am pleased to report that 12 books were read or abandoned this week which made it pretty successful! In September last year my tbr hit 900 which shocked me into taking action-and by tbr, I mean books I actually own in paperback or on ereaders. (My wishlist of what I want to read is NOT included). I am pleased to report that my tbr is now down to 630-635 which is a huge improvement and I'm very happy with it. I aim to get it down to as near 600 as I can by the end of this month! It would be the first time in about 10 years that my tbr has been that low!

So lets talk about this weeks books. I managed to pick up copies of the rest of the Secret McQueen series by Sierra Dean-3 novels and 2 short stories. I look forward to a secret week coming up at some point! I'm really just going to skim the Ricky Ponting book to look for the fights and match reports so that should be a quick read despite the book size. I got a few paperbacks this week but I'll save them for next week's STS!

    1. I'm not supposed to be looking for bargains right now but I'll justify it somehow!

  3. Great haul! Bargain books are always the best but then that might explain why my TBR pile is hovering at around 1000 and not going down very much! To prove my point I've just downloaded the free copy of Dying of the Light!

Enjoy all your new books and happy reading :)

    1. Ooh, 1000 tbrs...you have my sympathy! It's damn hard to get a tbr down when new books tempt you every week. I blame the authors...

  7. I really want all those Secret books, too, Chuckles, but they weren't on sale anymore :( this is probably a good thing, but I still have a sad!

    1. Hmm, Amazon UK seems to be out of stock in a few of the paperbacks which is annoying. I hoped to read the downloads then buy the paperbacks if the series continued to be good. Might have to rethink that plan!

  8. Based on the covers, I think I might have to mention Sierra Dean to my sister... They look fun, and right up her street. Hope you enjoy them!

    1. I liked the first book despite the inevitable love triangle as there was good action and a few nice twists. I'll need to reread it before I try the rest of the series as my short term memory sucks!
