This tag was created by http://lalatoadstone.blogspot.com/ and I saw the tag at Barb's blog http://bookertsfarm.blogspot.com/ . Looked like fun!
1) Who is your favourite magical or fantasy genre dog? Why? (film, tv or book)
It has to be Oberon from Kevin Hearne's Iron Druid books. We all want a dog that we can actually talk to, even if it's just inside our heads! When I was a kid and addicted to Doctor Who, I wanted my own K9!
2) Would you rather have a canine familiar or be able to shape shift into a dog? Why?
I've never had much interest in turning into an animal. If I did I'd be a wolf! I'd rather have the company of a canine familiar as I've never had a dog as a pet.
3) If you had a dog familiar, daemon, or were an animagus and changed into dog form, what combination of breeds would it be? (It has to be a mix as this is magical mutts) Why would you choose them?
I'm a rule breaker I'm afraid. If my dog has three magical powers then he is already a magical mutt so mine would just be a husky in appearance! He would be a dog familiar as opposed to the other options given. I would want him that size to take care of my family.
4) What would your familiar, daemon or dog form's name be?
He would be called Woofski as I've always loved that name.
5) If you had a magical dog, what three powers would be important for them to have? Why?
Naturally the power of speech so he can be a real companion. Secondly he would be able to teleport us wherever we needed to go to save time. He would also have a range of ninja fighting abilities for security reasons!
6) If your magical dog could talk, what accent would it have if any?
I wouldn't be greatly bothered about an accent as long as he is British.
7) If your fantasy dog had one odd magical habit or wore some strange talisman on it's collar, what would it be?
The desire to buy books on Amazon and pay for them himself, gifting plenty to me!
8) If you were going to write a fantasy story with a canine main character, what would the premise be, and what title would you have in mind?
It's not really the kind of book I'd write to be honest. If I was writing a dog related book it would be an apocalypse novel switching the POV between our faithful hound and the owners, or purely through the dog POV. He would have talking abilities. I'm not sure about plot or anything as I've never really thought it out but I love the idea of a husky called Thor!

Haha, your magical dog sounds epic. I wouldn’t want to mess with him. I have a boring, non-magical dog. I think speech/telepathy powers would be wasted on her. She’s not very bright. There probably isn’t a lot going on inside her head.
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
It must be lovely to have her though! I always wanted a dog as a kid and we were offered a beagle puppy once but as much as I wanted 'Snoopy' my parents were scared that my dad's asthma would be a problem and we never risked it. I can dream about a magical dog though...
DeleteI want a teleporting dog that could take me along for the ride. Think of the places we could go! :D Fun post.
ReplyDeleteIt would be great wouldn't it! I'd be going all round the UK to all the places I want to see!
DeleteSo much fun! I love the name Woofski. I also like the book buying aspect. So cool!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of a dog with a credit card buying me books!
DeleteI came across this tag and thought of you! Had fun reading your answers:)
ReplyDeleteI still wish I'd had the experience of being a dog owner!
DeleteI would have to say that Oberon is my favorite as well. I do like a lot of dogs in books but Oberon just took things to a different level.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing the faithful hound in apocalypse and horror films as long as the dog doesn't die!
Deleteoh it is a cute tag!
ReplyDeleteI did like Oberon even though I DNF that series! :)
I'd love a dog that I could talk to!
DeleteThere was a teleporting dog in a recent book I read by Dean Koontz which I thought was awesome! I don't know if I have a favorite but I really love Nanook from The Lost Boys - 80s movie.
ReplyDeleteMary
Nanook was a gorgeous animal wasn't he and I love that film! I'm such a fan of Kiefer Sutherland! I'd love to be able to teleport from the shops to my kitchen to save some energy!
DeleteThis is a fun tag!
ReplyDeleteI think my favourite doggy character has to be Manchee from The Knife Of Never Letting Go
Poor Manchee was adorable! I had to stop reading after that little git owner of his hit him!
