The Out Of Control Chuckles Book Grab!

I've finally decided to set free my inner book beast and let it go wild online. I have to report now that I went hunting online for free books that were on my wishlist today and I managed to find the grand total of 50! What a successful day! OK my ereaders are just about cracking under the strain of all that work but I don't care because I have a new pile of apocalypse, horror and creature feature books to gloat over! Mutant spiders! Sea Monsters! Sasquataches and Yetis! Zombies! Vampires and Werewolves! Dinosaurs! EMPs! Nuclear War! Sharks! I can hardly contain my excitement! A few of these will be on my weekend roundup on Friday and I'm sure they will appeal to a few of you guys!

To cap a good day, I can finally taste my food again after that flu so there is a big box of Thornton's chocolates with my name on them for tonight after I munch into a lovely chinese prawn curry...Yum! And if that wasn't enough, there will be chocolate, books, dvds and video games in amazon packages this week as my dad and I splurged on a bit of flu retail therapy...

What have you been up to this week? Any fun splurges or purchases?

  1. Ha! Love that graphic! And ooh Amazon packages, those are the best. A little retail therapy never hurt. :)

Sasquatches and yetis sound pretty great. And dinos.

  2. Oh! I love free horror! Can't wait for you to share some of this haul. So glad you're feeling better too. This flu has been devastating. I've been putting lemon and garlic in nearly everything. At least I know I won't be attacked by vampires.

I did get a lovely group of books from the library and I finally started reading Mr. Mercedes, which I'm hoping is as good as it sounds! It's going to be a lovely reading week/weekend!

    1. I felt great yesterday yet today I'm clogged up, coughing and sneezing again. It's driving me mad! Still the books have cheered me up which proves retail therapy works...

  3. I cannot wait to see what you got! And I'm so glad you're feeling better. You deserve to treat yourself after that hellish illness. I treated myself to 6 old-time horror paperbacks I found at an antique shop for a 7 bucks! Such a find. That's about it. I'm sort of swimming in books right now but that won't stop me from buying more this weekend.

    1. I hope I'm not headed to a darn relapse as I feel a bit rough this morning. Stupid germs! It was a good excuse for retail therapy though...and yes, nothing can stop us buying!

  4. Good for you! I browsed for some creature book. Didn't find any freebies that looked good though. I'm running out of horror. Yikes!

    1. Have you tried the site ebook bike? I pick up a lot of free stuff there. Got some Bobby Akart apocalypse, and horror by Peter Tremayne, Michael Laimo, David P Forsyth, Dave Jeffery and Geoff Jones. I also bought a few sea monsters today, each under £2 which is good!

  8. I’m glad you’re feeling better! I splurge about once a year and buy a ton of books that have been on my wishlist for months. I got 50+ books at Black Friday sales last year. It’ll take me forever to read that many, but I don’t regret it. They were cheap.

    1. I wish I only splurged once a year! Ooh good Black Friday haul! I never generally find anything I like in those sales for books. Not many Indie horror get into these sales!
