Can't Wait Wednesday-300 Miles

Can't Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted at http://www.wishfulendings.com/ to spotlight and discuss books we're excited about but haven't read, which may not even be released yet.

A nuclear warhead detonated at 300 miles above the center of the United States would effectively take out the entire electrical grid and infrastructure of the forty-eight contiguous states. Most people don’t think this is a possibility. But what if it is? What if a country like North Korea actually has the capability to do this but has led us to believe they don’t? What if they had acquired stealth technology that would let them launch a missile that we didn’t know about until it was too late to stop it?

Carly Marshall is a twenty-first century single mom. She works hard and lives modern. Take-out food, the latest technology, and all the modern conveniences of the time make up her life. She doesn’t have to worry about feeding her family. She doesn’t think twice about water coming out of the faucets. She’s on the path to advancement at her firm. Life can’t get much better. But what if it could get worse?

Having just read and loved PA Glaspy's debut apocalypse series, I'm very excited for this new series which readers are saying is even better! Problem is, it is being released as a serial novel and I won't be buying it in paperback until it comes out in an omnibus. That could be a long wait, which is annoying. The first part is already out.

  3. I do hope you love this and I'd be interested to see how Carly handles things. However, serials annoy the HECK out of me! I'd have to wait for the bind up as well.

    1. Yeah when I go to read a book, I want the whole thing in front of me, not waiting weeks or months for the next small segment!

    1. My problem is I do often think about it-usually at night and then I can't sleep!

  8. Oh man, I don't know if I could read something like this. Too depressing and scary to think of the possibility! But I hope you'll enjoy it! And I don't like to read serials until the whole thing is complete either, so I feel ya.
