Chuckles Weekend Roundup

Welcome to my new feature Chuckles Weekend Roundup where I will be looking at what books I've received, anything interesting I've done or bought or watched and other random stuff. I'll be taking a look back at what happened in my blogging world too, sort of like The Sunday Post that some of you do!

Please note that I'll be visiting your STS/SP as normal, but I don't follow or leave comments on blogs run by Google Plus, or DISQUS as I refuse to join something just to leave comments, and I won't allow DISQUS to follow new people, update my profile or post tweets 'on my behalf'. I am the only one who does that on my social media! I won't comment on any blog that makes me sign in using another account. Sometimes, I have problems leaving messages on blogs hosted by Wordpress-they try to block me because I deleted my account with them but I will persevere as it only happens the odd time!

What a week. I've been frustrated by the refusal of the snow to get lost-though it has thawed away again and I hope it stays that way. The temperature has at least gone up a bit which I'm grateful for. Who ever thought I'd get tired of Winter! Sleep has been in short supply, I've been a very tired and grumpy Chuckles overall and tomorrow I'm having a nice long lie and a day with the Para winter olympics on tv. Hence another edition of lets do this roundup on a Friday! On the bright side, during the week I finally started reading again which was a bit of a relief. I don't think I'll set any reading records this month but anything will be welcome.

Amazon were able to get through the snow to deliver all my packages which was a relief. I think I might get repetitive strain on my hand from clicking on BUY too often...still I got a good pile of books which of course I was running short of *sarcasm*, a box of American chocolate bars and my microwave furry slippers! One minute in the microwave and toasty feet! I picked one that wasn't lavender scented and I'm happy with them!

Did my best to keep up with blog visits and comments and going into the weekend I'm pretty much on track except for a few posts I haven't done yet.

Book Reviews
This week I decided it was way past time to start getting my Game of Thrones book reviews written and put up on the blog, as I read most of them last year. I took so many notes that I was dreading sorting through them! Another task done...

George RR Martin-A Game Of Thrones

George RR Martin-A Clash Of Kings

George RR Martin-A Storm Of Swords part 1

George RR Martin-A Storm Of Swords part 2

George RR Martin-A Feast For Crows

Currently Reading/Up Next
I got off to a bad start this week but by midweek I felt ready to read and completed two books which is better than nothing so I managed two out of the three planned. These were The Last Flag and The Haunted Forest Tour. This week I need to read the one I didn't manage and then two new selections.

Next week on the blog
I'll be going around the blogs and hopefully getting another sample post done. Cover Love features Erin A Jensen, Top Ten Tuesday is books that disappointed, Can't Wait Wednesday is all about sharks, Chuckles Chat is Book Awards and Game of Thrones Gossip catches up with Bran Stark and his friends.

  1. I need a copy of Extinction Trials but I can't seem to get it for my Kindle and don't know if I want a physical copy. I hope you enjoy your Saturday in front of the TV. Our winter refuses to be over. While we didn't get hit will all the snow that upper US got, we've had some flurries and cold temps and what's made it bad is that March has been colder than February so far. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

    1. The sample was decent and I need some more dinosaurs in my life so I just figured why not grab the paperback! I hope to be reading it tonight! March has been pretty miserable hasn't it...temps are up a bit here and I'm glad!

  4. I am so ready for warmer weather. I am glad your packages made it to you on time. I could use a couple of candy bars and some warm slippers. The Extinction Files looks like a book that I would enjoy! Have a great week!

    1. I'm determined to keep an emergency junk food supply for future spells of bad weather! I'm supposed to have read The Extinction Files by now but I haven't even started!

  5. Candy! I’m pretty sure that books, candy, and warm feet are the best things ever. I’m glad your packages got to you safely. Hopefully the snow will melt soon. Have a great week!

  6. Quite the book haul this week. Hope you enjoy them. I wish we had more snow, I miss it terribly and it does not snow nearly as much as it used to where I live now. But I grew up in Minnesota and they're still have blizzards. There's nothing better than staying home when it is snowing out, then playing outside when it is good and ready to build a snowman.

    1. I find the snow fun when I don't need to go out in it. We got a lot more snow when I was a kid and I was always playing outside in it. It's quite unusual to see a lot of it where I live.

    1. The reading didn't last long. I've already slumped again. I'm a bit fed up with it! The slippers aren't lavender ones though, just ordinary slippers.

  8. I'm glad it's getting a bit warmer. Luckily it only snowed on Friday in Belgium and most of the snow was gone by Saturday night. It did mess up my plans though. My amazon packages arrived this week too, but three books were damaged :(

I haven't read much this week but I hope to do better!

Have a wonderful week and happy reading!

    1. There's few things worse than opening an Amazon package to find damaged books inside. That's depressing. I'll be glad when it gets warmer here! At least my feet will be taken care of!

  9. I just got back to my house after a week with no power because of the snow. I am glad to be back. You have a great haul here!

    1. That sounds horrible Mary! I'm always worried about the power going off though luckily bad storms and extreme weather tend to miss my part of Scotland. I hope this week is better for you.
