Chuckles Weekend Roundup

Welcome to my feature Chuckles Weekend Roundup where I will be looking at what books I've received, anything interesting I've done or bought or watched and other random stuff. I'll be taking a look back at what happened in my blogging world too, sort of like The Sunday Post that some of you do!

Please note that I'll be visiting your STS/SP as normal, but I don't follow or leave comments on blogs run by Google Plus, or DISQUS as I refuse to join something just to leave comments, and I won't allow DISQUS to follow new people, update my profile or post tweets 'on my behalf'. I am the only one who does that on my social media! I won't comment on any blog that makes me sign in using another account. Sometimes, I have problems leaving messages on blogs hosted by Wordpress-they try to block me because I deleted my account with them but I will persevere as it only happens the odd time!
****************
Just a brief roundup as most of what I've been doing has been written in my coronavirus diaries. I'm now officially in isolation with my dad, as is my uncle in his house. We have our supplies, Amazon are still delivering, and at the moment we are both healthy, if a bit nervous. So we go off into a new adventure and see how things unfold.

My reading has been non existant. In a week, all I've managed to do is read half of The Chamber of Secrets, which is pretty pathetic really. I've spent my days blogging, my evenings watching TV, and prowling about through the night with insomnia! I'm having a few days of rest and then it is back to the housework. Yea.

Film & TV & Music
I watched Mamma Mia and Jaws, which I love! I've been listening to a bit of country-Big & Rich and Reba McEntire. Mostly, I've been watching reruns of Coronation Street from 1992 which has been a lot of fun. Sadly I STILL can't find my missing mp3 player!

  2. I just caught up on your Coronavirus posts. Stay safe and good luck with the self isolation! It sounds like you are prepared and good to go for the most part. It is a scary time, for sure. I can relate to how you felt about your uncle- I'm the same w/ my mom. I'm afraid if she doesn't have exactly what she needs she'll go out even though she knows she shouldn't, so there's been stress there. The really vulnerable family members are the ones we worry about! Anyway, take care and be well!

    1. I'd been nagging my uncle for two weeks before he finally listened about getting supplies in but at least he has some now. He's always been stubborn and will do his own thing however much we worry! I hope you were able to get your mum to listen!

  3. Stay healthy! I’m trying to do the isolation thing too, but I went to the grocery store a few days ago, and it was packed.

    1. Since the first suggestion of the 'stay at home' advice I've been out three times to the local shop and I'm worried that I shouldn't have done each trip-especially if I cough! I'm staying well away from big supermarkets though and I'm wearing latex gloves!

  4. Fingers crossed we don't all have to stay isolated for too long. My OH is already getting fidgety and we actually have quite a bit of space here so are a lot more fortunate than many.
I'm brushing up my apocalypse survival skills by crocheting a new doormat out of two ragged old t-shirts :-)

    1. That sounds like a good plan for the doormat and it is something creative to do! I think the open spaces away from others is a good idea and it gets fresh air and less mad crowds!

  5. I need to go back and read your previous posts. I still have them in my emails. Been so crazy at work, lots of overtime. I'm prepared for if or when they shut things down here. Stay well!

    1. I think doing the diary posts are kind of like therapy, sharing what's on my mind so I can move on from it y'know? It's also good to keep up with what is going on with everyone else!

    1. I'm having issues sleeping which is frustrating and the clock change this weekend won't help! Still, I'm at home and safe which I'm grateful for.

    1. I'm glad that you are both home safe right now. I hate the odd trip out to local shops. I don't like doing it but if I don't my dad will and he's more at risk.

  8. I watched Jaws I think last year for the first time and really enjoyed it. Stay safe and sane!

  9. I am amazed by how little have been reading since this all started. I just don't have the energy at the end of the day. We have watched a little TV at our house lately though.

    1. I've had little energy and concentration to do much reading but I'm hoping I can still get back into it. I've read two this week which is an improvement but I've also downloaded a pile!

  10. I've barely been reading either. It's as much as I can do to get work done right now. Just work, eat, bed, rinse and repeat. Stay safe!

    1. I think we all seem to be struggling to get stuff read. I think the emotional strain of the virus stuff has knocked the stuffing out of us. I hope better weeks are coming as we may need the distraction!
