Mid Year Freak Out Tag

I've seen this tag around the blogs for a while and didn't have time to do it but after seeing Barb over at had taken part I caved in and did it. I've no idea who started the tag, sorry!

Best Book You've Read So Far in 2018
Sonya Bateman's Master and Apprentice which was book 2 in the series.

Best Sequel You've Read So Far in 2018
Carrie Vaughn's Kitty's House Of Horrors, book 7 in the series.

New Release You Haven't Read Yet But Want To
Quite a few! Cabin At The End Of The World, Devil Sharks and Jurassic Florida.

Most Anticipated Release For The Second Half Of The Year
A couple of Hunter Shea books look quite enticing especially Rattus New Yorkus!

Biggest Disappointment
That's an easy one-A Conservative Coup. It was about how her MPs brought down Margaret Thatcher and sadly it was as exciting as watching paint dry. Actually when I think about it the Carrie Fisher diaries were just as bad.

Biggest Surprise
Titanoboa was much better than I expected it to be, as was Rick Chesler's Luna. The Last Flag was a bit naff but was good mindless entertainment!

Favourite New Author
PA Glaspy. It was a great apocalypse trilogy and I look forward to more of her work.

Newest Fictional Crush
I don't believe in this kind of stuff.

Newest Favourite Character
Rick the vampire in the Kitty Norville books.

Book That Made You Cry
None this year.

Book That Made You Happy
The Haunted Forest Tour was all kinds of monster mayhem with a huge body count!

Favourite Book To Film Adaptation
Haven't watched anything new this year.

Favourite Post You Have Done This Year
I don't have a favourite. I've enjoyed doing my regular posts and discussion posts.

Most Beautiful Book You've Bought This Year
I love the covers for the Extinction Trials books.

What Book Do You Need To Read Before The End Of The Year
I want to finish the Kitty Norville series, read the last Iron Druid book and catch up on the Patricia Briggs series that I'm behind on.

  1. This is such a fun tag! The Extinction Trial covers are sooooooo gorgeous! Great post Chuckles :)

  2. What, no books made you cry? Get those onions out!!!

    1. *grins* None yet but I blubber when I watch films and favourite TV shows with abandon!

  3. Great answers. Boy Shea really is getting quite a following with some of us. I finally got my Jurassic Florida review up today and it was so much fun. I agree, bring on the rats! (never thought I'd say that.) You and I are so alike on that fictional boyfriend thing - I always mention a dog because that's as close as I get. I own The Haunter Forest Tour and as you know, need to find The Extinction Trials. Lots of good books here!

    1. Got to love some great horror stuff like that! I've never understood the book boyfriend thing...I like or don't like a character but I never obsess about them in that way! Ah the madness of the Haunted Forest Tour! I enjoyed all the deaths!

  4. this was a fun tag but a little difficult. I had a hard time with some of the questions.

    1. A couple of the questions weren't relevant to me but mostly I did ok!

  5. Very interesting, you've just added a few books to my tbr! I need to make a post about the first half of the year!

  6. I love the covers of The Extinction Trials! Very creepy.

Aj @ Read All The Things!

    1. They have this great reptile skin look when the light shines on them!

  7. I really need to continue the Mercy Thompson series! I have read the first three or four books and absolutely loved them! Don't know why I stopped. Really would like to read my first Kevin Hearne book this year as well!

    1. I love Mercy! My favourite book so far was book 7. I still need to read 9 and 10...I love the Iron Druid series...
