Can't Wait Wednesday-Into The Dark

Can't Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted at http://www.wishfulendings.com/ to spotlight and discuss books we're excited about but haven't read, which may not even be released yet.

NB: I don't follow or leave comments on blogs run by Google Plus, or DISQUS as I refuse to join something just to leave comments, and I won't allow them to follow new people, update my profile or post tweets 'on my behalf'. I won't comment on any blog that makes me sign in using another account.

It happens in one devastating moment: an EMP strikes. The nation is plunged into darkness. Mass confusion soon becomes mass panic as planes fall out of the sky and cars fly off the roads. Families are stranded. Hospitals are in meltdown. It doesn't take long for the government to collapse and for the looters to take control of the cities.

When the lights go out, Mike is one of the first to realise what is happening. He has spent years studying the impact of EMPs, and how to prepare in case of disaster. His goal? To reunite with his daughter, before making his way out of the city and into the countryside.

Holly is with her friends when the EMP strikes. Cut off from social media and trapped in a busy suburban street, she knows she has to use all the skills her dad has taught her to get out of the city and get into the wilderness. But how much of her dad's teachings can she put into practice in a harsh and terrifying new world?

Do Mike and Holly have what it takes to survive? Or will this dangerous new world defeat them at the first hurdle?

I didn't like the zombie series that I tried by this author but that is no reason not to try a few of his apocalypse series to see if I like them better! Another dog to worry about though...

Released April 2018.

  6. I get stressed worrying about dogs in books! I need them to survive more than the humans sometimes! I hope this is better than the zombie books!

    1. I agree...dogs are to be worried about more than humans in the books I read!

  7. I'll give authors another chance with a new series as well.

(Does the no comment thing apply to InLinkz? You didn't verify your email with them so your link won't show up on the linky. If you want it to, just verify your email and you'll be good to go from here on out. Thanks!)

    1. I was happy using InLinkz to add my link to blogs I commented on-just adding my details on the blog page and that was that. But your blog this week is the only time I've had that company contacting me using email and wanting me to verify my email. I have no interest in dealing with them so I guess I can no longer link up with everyone.
