Chuckles Weekend Roundup

Welcome to my new feature Chuckles Weekend Roundup where I will be looking at what books I've received, anything interesting I've done or bought or watched and other random stuff. I'll be taking a look back at what happened in my blogging world too, sort of like The Sunday Post that some of you do!

Please note that I'll be visiting your STS/SP as normal, but I don't follow or leave comments on blogs run by Google Plus, or DISQUS as I refuse to join something just to leave comments, and I won't allow DISQUS to follow new people, update my profile or post tweets 'on my behalf'. I am the only one who does that on my social media! I won't comment on any blog that makes me sign in using another account. Sometimes, I have problems leaving messages on blogs hosted by Wordpress-they try to block me because I deleted my account with them but I will persevere as it only happens the odd time!

****************
Yes I'm posting this on Friday night for a change as I'll be taking a day off tomorrow to lie in my bed, read and watch the Winter Olympics! It's going to be a cold day so I decided on a duvet day for a change. It has been another good reading week and I'm enjoying reading again instead of it feeling like a chore as it was at the end of 2017. I'm doing nicely with each of my challenges as well which is keeping me motivated. I have made a few book purchases, grabbed a pile of samples and downloaded a few more books. Overall it has been busy on the booky front with books bought in various series I'm following! I'm going to be spending a reasonable amount of time watching the Winter Olympics but I'll be online each day as normal and keeping up with my usual blogging.

PAPERBACKS:

Chuckles Blogging World
I was happy enough with an average week of blogging activity but I still can't seem to get ahead on my Prepping topics. I'm still thinking what to do for this week. I'm ahead enough to do a bit of TV watching these next two weeks so after that I'll need to get caught up again!

This week I'm back to doing some sampling, and as usual I go around the blogs. Cover Love this week featured James Wesley Rawles, Top Ten Tuesday was about what was on my TBR the longest and Can't Wait Wednesday was about Kill Creek.

My Goodreads Challenge-32/200

TBR books I own but haven't read-837

Currently Reading/Up Next
I read Kitty's House of Horrors, a space dinosaur book called Domus and the rest of the Zompoc trilogy as planned. Today I DNFed a few books that turned out to be not my thing. I'll be reading one of my new purchases-the PA Glaspy book, along with the second and final book in Matthew D Mark's great apocalypse series and then it'll be back to Kitty Norville book 8. I then plan to read something for the Puppy Love Challenge if I get time.

Next week on the blog...
I'll be doing all my usual stuff like Around the Blogs and Chuckles Goes Sampling. I haven't chosen my prepping topic or written it yet so I need to get cracking on that! Cover Love will be Amanda Bouchet, Top Ten Tuesday is Plots I Never Stop Loving, Can't Wait Wednesday features Wander, Chuckles Chat is about Affiliate Links and Game of Thrones Gossip is checking in with Stannis Baratheon.

  1. It sounds like you are keeping pretty busy. Enjoy relaxing with the Olympics. I plan to watch them tomorrow too as it will be raining. And its good to hear you are enjoying reading more. I think I got burnt out after the 31 Days Of Horror in October. That was a lot of reading and reviewing. LOL

    1. Trying to watch the events and blog at the same time is proving very difficult! I think I'm finding it stressful rather than relaxing! I even managed to watch two films last night which is a miracle in itself so I need to get reading tonight!

  2. Enjoy the Olympics! It’s snowing here, so it’ll be a good day for Olympics watching.

  4. Thinking up topics is the hardest bit for me, it's why I don't do regular discussion posts! I don't know how you do it.

    1. It's getting hard to keep thinking up new topics! I'm going to be doing a lot of thinking about that and my upcoming prepper topics over the next few days.

    1. I am having fun watching it so far! It's out of my timezone so watching what I recorded overnight cuts into my reading time!

    1. The time difference is playing havoc with my reading time! Coverage is basically on midnight-1pm here but with blogging and making the dinner, I don't get to watch the recorded events until after 6pm which is my reading time!

  9. I hope you enjoy the Olympics, even if it is interfering with reading time!

  10. I haven't watched anything from the Olympics yet, I feel like I'm the worst fan! I will put on the TV later today, I guess I'll try to catch some skiing or figure skating if that's on at all.
Which are your favorites to watch, Chuckles?

    1. Finding the time to watch what we want can be hard! I love snowcross, ski cross, parrellel snowboarding, biathlon, cross country skiing, short track speed skating, moguls...I watch most stuff except the halfpipe, ice hockey and figure skating I guess!
