Chuckles Weekend Roundup

Welcome to my new feature Chuckles Weekend Roundup where I will be looking at what books I've received, anything interesting I've done or bought or watched and other random stuff. I'll be taking a look back at what happened in my blogging world too, sort of like The Sunday Post that some of you do!

Please note that I'll be visiting your STS/SP as normal, but I don't follow or leave comments on blogs run by Google Plus, or DISQUS as I refuse to join something just to leave comments, and I won't allow DISQUS to follow new people, update my profile or post tweets 'on my behalf'. I am the only one who does that on my social media! I won't comment on any blog that makes me sign in using another account. Sometimes, I have problems leaving messages on blogs hosted by Wordpress-they try to block me because I deleted my account with them but I will persevere as it only happens the odd time!
****************
I'm posting this on Friday again so I can chill out on Saturday with a duvet day and the Winter Olympics! I've been frustrated by the coverage with hours every day being devoted to prelim ice hockey and curling yet other things like snowcross that is only on for one day we're only seeing bits of. That hardly seems fair!!! My reading schedule has been really messed up this week which is a bit frustrating and I'm not finding the time to get it done. I need to find more reading time from somewhere and get on schedule to finish the Puppy Love Challenge before the end of the month.

I also need to organise my bookshelves-I've run out of space for my books again! That MIGHT be something to do with buying more paperback apocalypse books...It's not my fault! These Indie books can suddenly vanish into the publishing wilderness so you kind of HAVE to buy them straight away! *ahem* They just all look too good and I'm a very weak Chuckles. But of course there are worse vices to have than book buying!

PAPERBACKS

Chuckles Blogging World
It has been hard to keep on top of things while the Olympics are on...trying to watch the TV and not miss anything while I blog is proving to be kind of tough! I'm hoping that I can keep on top of things until the events finish and I can get back to normal!

Currently Reading/Up Next
I'm disappointed to only finish two books this week, one of which was a short story!  I'm close to halfway through the Matthew D Mark book I'd planned to read so I hope to finish that tonight or tomorrow morning at the latest. I'm going to skip the next planned Kitty Norville book as that is part of a series read over the whole year so I can concentrate on the rest of the dog books for the Puppy Love Challenge as I've fallen behind!

Next Week on the blog
I'll hopefully be doing some sampling if time allows, as well as my usual trip around the blogs and Prepping with Chuckles will look at Prepper websites to follow. Cover Love will feature some nice dogs, Top Ten Tuesday looks at books I no longer want to read, Can't Wait Wednesday is Days of Panic, Chuckles Chat is about decorating your blog and Game of Thrones Gossip is about the adventures of Arya Stark in season three!

  1. I think once you start them, you'll get through The Money Pit and the Elvis book rather quickly. Hope you enjoy them. The chapters from Elvis' POV really make the book. He's such a sarcastic Basset. I really hope you get to enjoy some of the Olympics this weekend. I've been catching up on the highlights each morning before work. Enjoy your weekend my friend and the boys sends lots of love and sloppy pup kisses to Auntie Chuckles!

    1. I hope I get through them quickly as I'm lagging a bit! I still have a few weeks though so it's not full out panic yet! Big cuddles back at your furry guys!

  2. I’m watching the Olympics right now! Ice hockey is my favorite because it’s a big deal where I’m from. I grew up watching/playing it. Hockey games are really long though, so I understand why people would be frustrated with it. I’ve never understood curling. It’s so boring!

    1. Both events take up all day on one channel and with so much downhill skiing and figure skating, there seems no time for the extreme sports!

  3. Enjoy the Olympics and your reading time! I have a similar weekend planned.

    1. It was meant to be relaxing but then I decided to combine watching the Olympics with rearranging all the books from my bookshelf! Now I've got a pile of pulled muscles coming to the party!

  4. I know what you mean about feeling the need to buy books before they vanish into the ether. I do a little too much of that, too. :)

    1. Indie apocalypse books tend to do that vanishing from Amazon which can be very frustrating...I just have to grab them when I see something that looks good!

  5. I kind of fell away from the Olympics recently. I plan to watch more tomorrow too. But also want to get outside and read. The weather if gorgeous! I've read all of the books I plan to share for Puppy Love. Now to get the reviews written.

    1. Must be nice to get outside in February and read! I'm still shivering inside the house. For once I'm looking forward to spring and not having to hide under the duvet! I need to start getting the Puppy Love reviews posted too. I've read three and DNFed two so far.

  6. I was hoping to watch a lot more of the Olympics than I've been able to this year. :( I hope you have a really great weekend of watching.

    1. I've seen anything I want to that has been shown on TV but the coverage doesn't focus on things I love like the skicross and snowboard cross!

  7. Ooh an all Olympics day sounds pretty good! I've been watching on and off and our coverage sucks too. Do you watch on the BBC or some other way? I'm just curious how other countries find their programming to be... and yes the indie books must be supported! :) Alpha Farm looks good.

    Have a great weekend!

    1. I'm mainly watching the two Eurosport Channels which cover a lot of what I want to see and I also record a third channel which is the BBC red button channel. The main BBC channel has too much chat and interviews so I usually ignore that.
