Stacking the Shelves #141

Stacking the Shelves is a meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! Click on the link under the book to find its page on Goodreads or Smashwords.

Please note that I always leave a message on your STS/SP if you visit me, but if you use DISQUS or a similar third party I will not be able to leave a comment on your page. I don't allow any company access to my social media accounts and I certainly don't allow them to edit and take over my accounts the way DISQUS does. So if you use DISQUS, I can't leave comments on your page so I can't really follow you back, sorry! I'm noticing that some blogs set with Google Plus are trying to force you to open a Google Plus or Facebook account before you can leave a comment. Well, I have no interest in rejoining Google Plus or joining Facebook so if your blog uses this set up, I won't be following it or commenting! And sometimes, I have problems leaving messages on blogs hosted by Wordpress-they try to block me so there might not be a message from me some weeks or you might get a double message sometimes! Blame them, not me!

Firstly, thank you all so much for your kind messages and support through the last two weeks...it has meant a lot to me and has been a huge help during a bit of a down time. I am feeling much better today thanks to getting a few good nights sleep, and finally getting my computer issues sorted. I'm getting a new upgraded one hopefully before next weekend. A lot of the issues I had with weird menu and webpage behaviour turned out to be a wonky mouse of all things! I'm stuck with that and an old computer which I'm sure Noah used as a boy-it is a slow dinosaur but it keeps me online for the moment so I'll keep my swearing under control! No word on the blood tests but I think if there was something wrong I'd have heard by now so I'm not going to worry about it. So again, thank you all for your kind messages and I do feel so much better now!

Sadly this week was a washout when it came to reading. I didn't read anything, I watched serial killer docs on TV and Celebrity Masterchef and leafed through magazines. I hope this coming week gets me back to normal! I need to get reading and catch up on some blogging!!! I'll continue to visit blogs and answer comments until the new computer is ready though I might just post the odd blog post. Depends how slow this machine is! I did manage to grab some more books to read *ahem* so I won't be short of reading material. The downloads are from the mega pile I grabbed. during my retail therapy and some of them are a bit different from my normal reads as they feature romance-but I do need more urban fantasy in my life and most were free so it's rude NOT to grab them...! Oh and I want to let you guys know that this blog is fully moderated so I have to approve each post before it appears, so don't worry if your comment doesn't show up straight away!

    1. I love a lot of the covers and it is a bit silly to decide not to read them because there might be romance in them...I mean I like Night Huntress and Mercy Thompson and Women of the Otherworld! Hopefully I'll like a few of these as well!

    1. I did smile at what you said about the books always being there. I think my worry is that they'll always be there because I never get round to reading them! *giggles* I do have a plan to start clearing out everything I won't read again to get some more space back. Might take a while but it's a start!

    1. It'll be a relief to have a fast computer back again. This old one is driving me mad but at least it lets me stay online until I get the new one!

  5. I'm sure they would have got back to you, if something serious showed up on your blood tests. I hope you have a better week of reading! :-)

    1. Yeah normally the doctor phones if there are any problems or a letter comes to say what is happening. I'm hoping for a nice, quiet, relaxing reading week!

  6. Not reading anything sometimes helps, in my opinion! You'll get back into reading with a vengeance. And you've got so many to choose from now. I hope you enjoy all of your new books!

Thanks for visiting my blog! Have a fantastic week. =)

  7. That is some impressive retail therapy! I love all the fantasy books! I'm sorry you have had some health issues of late. It is hard not to worry. I had to have my yearly mammogram this week and wept with relief when it came back all clear (I had Breast Cancer 4 years ago). Stay healthy and happy reading.

    1. You've been through a truly horrible experience and I'm so glad that your latest checkup was clear. I'm one of those people who panics at the slightest health issue-I was never like that until I lost my mum to cancer two years ago but now I overreact to everything. I need to get a grip on that! I hope your health continues to be good and thank you for sharing your story with me *hugs*

  9. Me and the furry dudes are glad you are feeling better. From the looks of your post, I need to grab some of these. I have Black Mom Sings and hope it's really good. I have been on an urban fantasy kick too. I just finished It Happened One Doomsday where the 4 horses of the Apocalypse are demons who drive muscle cars. My review should be up in a week or so and maybe it will interest you. Wonderful haul.

    1. I love the covers of urban fantasy books...makes me wish I had them all in paperback to gaze at! If I really like them I'll grab a paperback copy. I liked the sound of the book you were describing but as soon as your review mentioned love triangle, I decided not to read it. I HATE love triangles and avoid books I know feature them. Pity, as it sounded interesting!

  10. Glad you're feeling better! Looks like you got some good books this week. On the computer front, I may be getting a new one in a week or two myself, and not have to use my work one anymore. Can't wait to see if that is going to work out. Thanks for stopping by my Sunday Post earlier!

  11. I hope you'll get your reading-groove on too, Chuckles! You have some incredible-looking books, so maybe that will help? Of course, I love the purple tint on so many of the covers ;)
Have a wonderful week and happy reading.

    1. I wish I could read these first but I have an issue with shelf space at the moment so I need to get through the physical books first to get some space back! I really need to do an overhaul of my bedroom to clear out everything I don't need as I really need to get a new bed!

  12. Sometimes we need those weeks that are a wash in reading. I don't like them, but they happen. I think I picked up a few of those freebies too, and some new ones there too!

Hope you have a good week this week!

    1. I think I feel ready to jump back into fiction again! I've been reading some non fiction books about mountain climbing expeditions so I can give the books over to my uncle to read. As soon as I finish the one I'm on, I'm going back to fiction and I'm looking forward to it!

  13. Oh you got lots of good looking books this week. I actually own some of these as well. I recently got Infernal magic, Black Moon Sing and Descended from Dragons. And I've read Faerie Magic, I enjoyed that one. I got Ancient Magic for review through netgalley, but haven't read it yet. Have a great week!
