This is the second part of my Constructing Winterfell 3D puzzle. I can now say that I'm officially finished with it now so here is how I put the rest of it together.
The castle walls have now been fully constructed and gives shape to the grounds. Next up was to construct all the buildings inside and outside the castle walls.
Next up was construction of the beautiful heart tree. I still need to do all the trees to go round it and build the towers up higher.
This is it after the big towers are added to give it the distinctive Winterfell look.
Now came the fiddily bit-constructing all the trees! This drove me crazy but it's done!
And so to the final overhead, front and back photos!
It has been fun to construct Winterfell and it makes me want to move in! The castle looks warm and snug with the gorgeous natural areas, the towers to explore, the huge library...*sigh*. I have the 3D puzzle of the Red Keep but I'm in no real hurry to get started on it. I just wanted to buy it in case it suddenly vanished from the internet like the painting by numbers stuff did!

This looks like a fun project! I’d love to do something like this, but I have no idea where I’d put it once it was done.
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
That's going to be a problem for me! I'm telling myself that it'll force me to tidy up a bit more and find a place to put it but I'm not yet convinced and of course I already bought the Red Keep!!! I'm still eying King's Landing, the third puzzle that these people do...
DeleteThat's really cool. That looks great.
ReplyDeleteI love sitting looking at it and wishing I had tiny Stark family figures to put on it!
DeleteThat looks awesome! How long did it take you to build it? It looks so fiddly!
ReplyDeleteSome bits had me gritting my teeth! The tress were so small and delicate and the base had to be glued to stop it continually falling apart on me! I made it over about two weeks, doing a bit here and there when I felt like it. I imagine it could be done over a weekend or a few nights but I wasn't in any real hurry.
DeleteIt looks so cool! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm really happy with it!
DeleteAwesome. I love the whole godswood idea. :)
ReplyDeleteThe trees were so delicate! It was the hardest part as I kept dropping bits of them! It is one of my favourite bits to look at now it's done. The heart tree also has the face on it!
DeleteThat is so awesome! I hope you had a great time putting it together.
ReplyDeleteThere was the odd bit that temporarly tripped me up but overall I did enjot the project!
DeleteLooks great! So I'd totally live there too, as long as it had a decent heat source. Love the trees but I'm afraid my forest would have a few less ones than you.
ReplyDeleteThe one thing missing was the small pool beside the heart tree...I'd have loved to see that included in some way. According to the books, hot springs underground heat the castle so that sounds perfect!
DeleteWow. It looks amazing. Well done!
ReplyDeleteThankfully it was pretty straightforward! I'm not good at hard craft projects!
DeleteThat. Is. Awesome!!!
ReplyDeleteKaren @ For What It's worth
I'm now enjoying looking at it and wanting to live there!
DeleteThat is amazing and so much fun to do too.
ReplyDeleteIt's my first ever 3D puzzle and it was a lot of fun to do! I used to love jigsaws but the Game of Thrones ones are very expensive!
DeleteThis looks amazing, Chuckles. I love how detailed it is. You did a fantastic job with it.
ReplyDeleteIt was pretty straightforward for the most part so I enjoyed getting it done! I'll be doing posts about constructing the Red Keep which looks a bit more challenging!
DeleteYour Westeros looks brilliant, well done! My Dave would enjoy putting these one of these models together I think. Though, like Aj says, I'm not sure where it could go when finished
ReplyDeleteIt certainly isn't complicated but a few bits can be a little delicate and irritating but I'm pleased with the outcome. I'm not sure when I'll get started on the Red Keep but that should be fun too!
