Top Ten Tuesday-There Needs to be More!

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.  http://www.thatartsyreadergirl.com/top-ten-tuesday/

NB: I don't follow or leave comments on blogs run by Google Plus, or DISQUS as I refuse to join something just to leave comments, and I won't allow them to follow new people, update my profile or post tweets 'on my behalf'. I won't comment on any blog that makes me sign in using another account.

This is a topic I think about a lot! There are so many books that left me wanting more! Some are stand-alone and some are series that ended too soon.

1) VM Zito-The Return Man
This was a book about a man who is hired by families to go into the wasteland to find their zombie relatives and kill them. He ends up on a rescue mission to find a man working on a cure. I loved Henry and seeing more of his adventures would be fun!

2) William Massa-Fear The Light
Who killed Dracula? A group of vampires are called to his house to discuss the murder and find themselves being taken out one by one in a series of lethal traps and plots. Trapped in the house by the sunlight, they can't find a way out and need to find the killer. I loved this book and would like to see more similar vampire plots in the same vein...

3) Matthew Reilly-Contest
I loved the story of a man dropped into a supernatural warrior contest inside a New York library. Stephen was a great character who has to rely on his brains as he has none of the powers the other contestants have. I'd love to see him and Selexin join up for another sci-fi adventure.

4) Jeff Strand-The Haunted Forest Tour
I loved this horror book about a forest full of nasty creatures that just grows up out of nowhere and is turned into a tourist attraction that goes deadly! I would love to see another forest pop up somewhere else so I can read more!

5) Rick Jones-The Valley
Criminals are sent to take part in a game show that TV viewers love. To gain possible freedom, all you need to to is cross the valley with limited supplies-and avoid getting eaten by dinosaurs! I loved this book and would really enjoy a similar adventure by the author.

6) Jason Rowe & Brian Palmer-Genesis
Back in 2013 I reviewed a great first book in a series and I promoted it everywhere but when I contacted one of the authors about the sequels, the response was pretty much that he might get round to it someday, which was hugely disappointing! Still no sign of the sequels!

7) JK Rowling-Harry Potter
I don't really want much...just at least a trilogy about the first wizard war covering the Rise of Voldemort, the Death Eaters v The Order of the Phoenix, the betrayal of the Potters, the fate of the Longbottoms and the Wizard Trials. And maybe 7 books about James, Sirius and co at Hogwarts...

8) George RR Martin-The Winds of Winter/A Dream of Spring
Seriously, just write man!!!

9) SM Wilson-The Extinction Trials
I know the trilogy has just finished and I do like the way it ends-but I'm already imagining a second trilogy in the future y'know? Piloria is so great that we really need to see more of it! More dinosaurs, giant spiders and drama!

10) Hunter Shea-Swamp Monster Massacre
This is still my favourite book by the author and I'd love to see another group of tourists trapped and stalked by the Sasquatches!

  1. I actually heard on the radio that George RR Martin turned down a cameo in the last season because he needed to stay home and finish that The Winds of Winter. I was a tad skeptical. I don't think he ever will.

Also, your list reminds me I really need to read some Reilly and Strand books. You had a lot of fun with today's topic!

    1. I heard that rumour too but I'm not sure I believe it either! I hope someone has locked him in the cabin until he finishes!!! I think we'll get this book but I fear for the last book!

  3. Oh so funny! There are so many books that I need more of! Now if only we could get the authors to do what they're supposed to do!

  7. I would like to try 1,4,5,6,9 and 10. I think I will pass on JK and George. I am not sure why and I still need to get a HS book. =)

    1. Genesis XII was good but there are no sign of the promised sequels. I didn't get a reply when I recently contacted the author.
