I admit that with the stress and depression that I have, my short term memory can be pretty poor for details, which is why I rely on things like Goodreads and Bloglovin to keep my blogging activities straight. I was aware of several bloggers not commenting anymore on my blog and I didn't really give it much thought until today, when I was answering comments and a message was there from one of those people. What she said made it clear that she has still been following me and I realised that Bloglovin yet again has ate my friends!
By that I mean that over the years on several occasions Bloglovin has decided to unfollow a few people I was following. I don't know why this happens but sometimes it takes me ages to notice with my wonky brain so apologies to anyone who has seen me suddenly disappear! I'm going to go through my Bloglovin account and re-follow a few of you guys and try to reconnect with you. Does anyone else have this Bloglovin issue? I just find it really weird!
My new experiment of catching up with blogs and comments at the weekend was a resounding success this week so following a few more blogs has become an option again. I'll be starting with those already following me, some of which I haven't previously followed so hello to you guys! *waves* I'm trying to be a more social animal you see, even if we only comment once a week on each other's blogs! Speaking of catching up, I have a few more blogs to get to today so I'll see you throughout the day!

Well, that sucks. Are you sure you still want to use a service that does that kind of thing to you? I know I'd be screaming up a storm about it :-D
ReplyDeleteGlad you figured it out though. As you noted, that type of thing is so easy to miss...
The problem is first I'd need to research a pile of alternatives then the time it takes to transfer everything over-and no guarantee I'll like the new service. I just don't have the time at the moment!
DeleteBloglovin is weird. Yesterday I followed an account that I know for sure I already follow because I see the posts in my feed. I wondered if the blogger had two accounts, and I only followed one of them? I don’t know.
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
It can all be very confusing! I often wonder if other options would be better but it's so much hassle and I don't know if I can still follow all the same blogs on a new set up and so on!
DeleteOH NO!! I hate when stuff like this happens. I've been seeing a few glitches in my Feedly account too...
ReplyDeleteI need to take a look at Feedly but I'm unsure of whether it would suit me or not!
DeleteShame on Bloglovin! Hope you get it squared away. And I hope you have a good weekend! :)
ReplyDeleteI find it so annoying! Panic this weekend as I have the bloody dentist tomorrow!
DeleteOh how annoying! And now you've got me wondering who Bloglovin has unfollowed for me. I know there are a few people I haven't seen in awhile but I'm not sure if it's because they've taken a break from blogging or because of Bloglovin!
ReplyDeleteIt can be difficult trying to work out if you've been unfollowed or there is a glitch!
DeleteI don't really do much with Bloglovin. I add all of the blogs that I follow into a folder in my bookmarks on my laptop. Then I just open each blog in a new tab and go through all of them to see if they have new posts.
ReplyDeleteBloglovin is useful when it works but I don't know why they don't let me block these stupid bots that keep following me or people who stopped blogging years ago!
DeleteNow you have me wondering if Bloglovin had me unfollow anyone. I don't use Bloglovin to keep track of posts, I use Feedly. It's much more user friendly, but I did find out that I missed over 1400 emails, because my mail program stopped downloading from my social email account. I was not happy to discover this.
ReplyDeleteIt is easy to check but it's really annoying! Does Feedly let you block bots following you? I'd like to be able to do that! Ugh sounds like an email nightmare...
DeleteHow strange of Bloglovin to do that. I don't use Bloglovin, but last week WP put one of my commenters into spam for a non-spam comment. It was weird. I guess these things happen once in awhile.
ReplyDeleteI get that with blogger too but at least the comments aren't deleted so we can still read them!
DeleteI've had that happen too. And when I had to change my email, I lost some friends too. Still coming across some from other media.
ReplyDeleteThe joys of technology eh!
DeleteHate when that happens.

It's a real pain!
DeleteI'd thought that of Bloglovin sometimes too, but came to the conclusion that it must have been me, not them. I tend to follow blogs over several channels and often lose track of who is where!
ReplyDeleteMy poor memory means it can take me a while to spot a problem!
DeleteI don't think I'd notice an issue with my bloglovin... I just tend to assume it's working! :/ This is a nice reminder to check once in a while.
ReplyDeleteI hope you manage to get it all straightened out.
I've been accidentally following your commenting model the past couple of weeks. I just haven't been able to get to visiting during the week (or even that much on Sundays) so I've been blitzing on Fri/Sat and it seems to work ok! You definitely may be on to something!
I've certainly found it useful to get caught up with everything over two days and leave myself time for other things!
DeleteI haven't noticed a issue as I don't really use bloglovin. I go on every now and than and like a few posts but I don't really use it for anything. I am still using Google for that. I am nervous about it going away.

Bloglovin lets me see at a glance which friends have posted messages and it is nice and easy to catch up. It does have the down sides though...
