Welcome to my feature Chuckles Weekend Roundup where I will be looking at what books I've received, anything interesting I've done or bought or watched and other random stuff. I'll be taking a look back at what happened in my blogging world too, sort of like The Sunday Post that some of you do!
Please note that I'll be visiting your STS/SP as normal, but I don't follow or leave comments on blogs run by Google Plus, or DISQUS as I refuse to join something just to leave comments, and I won't allow DISQUS to follow new people, update my profile or post tweets 'on my behalf'. I am the only one who does that on my social media! I won't comment on any blog that makes me sign in using another account. Sometimes, I have problems leaving messages on blogs hosted by Wordpress-they try to block me because I deleted my account with them but I will persevere as it only happens the odd time!
****************
This was the first week of my new experiment of posting through the week as normal but leaving blog visits and answering comments until the weekend. The plan was to give me more time to do other things during the week and get some chill out time. I can say that it was a stress free week and it was nice to find time to tackle other things that I've been putting off, on and off the computer. Today and over the weekend I'll catch up with everything blog related and get posts ready to use next week. Fingers crossed it looks like a success so far! I hope this will keep me committed to the blog for a few years to come.
On the reading side of things I did have a good week and got a few dealt with, which was pleasing. I'm on track so far for my monthly reading and my Goodreads Challenge. I'm doing ok with my other challenges for the year as well. I did get a couple of paperbacks related to series I'm following and a few creature feature downloads but I'll feature them on next week's roundup. A couple of these Zombie road books are ones I bought months ago and forgot to add to Goodreads for some reason. The Rule of Three is fan fiction based on the brilliant Extinction Cycle series and the author of the main series has published the best fan work for everyone to enjoy which is kind of cool!
PAPERBACKS
Chuckles Blogging World
I'm planning a new series of posts about thrillers, apocalypse and horror books set around the world so my time off the blog has been concentrating on going through my books and sorting them into countries! It is quite time consuming but the posts will be fun when I share them! I'm discovering that I've read books in more countries than I thought!

I'm pleased to report that I read 5 books this week and DNFed one! I read a few shorter books-Infestation, Operation Antarctica, Voyage To Hell and Tempest Outpost, along with The Secret Lives of Rockstars. I DNFed The Demonists. This week I'm tackling these books.

I’m glad the new schedule is working for you. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
It seems to be exactly what I was looking for! I feel like I have more time this week which is great!
DeleteGood to hear that the new blog schedule is working for you. I tend to blog ahead and have 40 of more posts set to go live at any given time.
ReplyDeleteI do blog ahead quite a bit as well on things like TTT, my Cover Love and Books From The Backlogs posts. It's useful!
DeleteLooks like you have some fun reading ahead of you. :)
ReplyDeleteI hope to get to Zombie Road sometime this year...
DeleteI love Ninja Warrior! The first time I ever saw it I was on holiday in America. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad the new blogging pattern is working. I need to find a more manageable rhythm too.
I'm addicted to all Ninja Warrior competitions! I have episodes from Australia, Vietnam, Russia, France and the UK as well!
DeleteHappy weekend! Glad the new system is working. I love that cover for Zombie Road II.
ReplyDeleteIt looks to be going well so far!
DeleteYay that you didn't have any DNF's this week! Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteI did DNF one-The Demonists!
DeleteGlad the new commenting system is working for you. I started commenting M-F and taking weekends off.
ReplyDeleteI'm on the road to our new home in WA so no reading for me,

It certainly worked well this week. I hope the move goes well!
DeleteI sometimes struggling with visiting and commenting. It does take a lot of time and sometimes I don't have a lot to say. Glad to hear this is working out for you. And I see a Rollins book. Amazonia was interesting and I've enjoyed many of his books.
ReplyDeleteFinding something to say other than 'enjoy the book' or 'glad you liked it' is difficult! I get annoyed with myself every time I comment about not liking the book mentioned as it feels like a negative comment!
DeleteI like the sound of your new schedule. I think finding something that works for you is the key. I hope you have a great week, Chuckles!
ReplyDeleteIt certainly seems to be working!
DeleteGlad your new blogging and commenting schedule seems to be doing the trick for you. I've missed several days internet time over the past couple of weeks and its amazing how little time it took to drop waay behind where I should be :-/
ReplyDeleteI feel like I have a lot more time to get things done now instead of trying to keep up daily!
DeleteLooks like some freakishly good reading this week. Ebola...Ughh Zombies...You have your hands full. =)
ReplyDeleteMary
Ebola is one thing that really does scare me!
