I think I'm destined not to have a quiet week EVER! On Sunday my mum had a fall due to the weakness from her treatment and we could not get her moved so had to call an ambulance. After nearly 5 hours in A&E we got her admitted to a ward. She looks much better now after fluids, blood and minerals have been pumped into her and a bad infection treated. We hope to have her home on Monday if these new medications deal with the infection quickly. So we've been spending most of the week at the hospital with no time for reading or blogging or anything much. It's been pretty chaotic! I hope this coming week has less drama!
Last night I finally managed to pick up and finish a book that I've been reading for about 2 weeks now so maybe I can get my reading back on track this week.

oh some nice books here but I haven't read them. I heard about some though. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteI think I'm getting my reading mojo back so hopefully I'll get them read before next year! I got an hour read last night which is more than I've managed all week! Thanks for visiting.
DeleteI've been meaning to read Touch for ages, but I never seem to find a copy of it anywhere?? :/ I think I need to buy it online or on my Kindle. :) Happy reading and enjoy your goodies!
ReplyDeleteI got mine on Amazon UK-it just arrived yesterday. I really want Darker Days in paperback but it's Kindle only at the moment.
DeleteLooks like a fun bunch! I hope you enjoy them, and have a good week!
ReplyDeleteMy StS.
I am quite excited by this haul...now I need to find time to read them!
DeleteNice haul this week! I'm not familiar with these titles, but I hope you enjoy each of them when you get to them. :)
ReplyDeleteCheck out my StS and my current giveaways!
*grins* It's the getting to them that is the problem! I wish I could get through a book a day...it would help reduce the tbr pile...
DeleteI hope you have a much better week this week! I hope you enjoy these books too :-)
ReplyDeleteI've decided not to hope for a quieter week and then I might get one! Reverse psychology and all that...but at least I read for 3 hours last night YEA!
Deleteinteresting selection. some good freebies. Enjoy your new reads.
ReplyDeleteI'm quite pleased with myself-I looked at about 10 other freebies which I'd normally just grab but this time I just chose what I thought I'd really like and left the others. That makes a change!
DeleteGreat haul of books! The only one I've read is Spook's Apprentice but I have Touch on my wishlist, looking forward to hearing what you think of it! Hope your mum continues to improve and you get a quieter week with reading time :)
ReplyDeleteHere's my Haul!
I've added you to my bloglovin list! Thanks for stopping by and for your kind thoughts. I did get some good reading in last night so maybe my mojo is back!
DeleteI need to start Joseph Delaney's series before the movie comes out! Great haul!
ReplyDelete-Scott Reads It!
I think I better give it priority as well! I saw this series in the chariry shop and loved the covers so I grabbed the first one. I'n not usually a fantasy person but I liked the sound of this. Fingers crossed...
DeleteI've read most of The Spooks series, they're really good. Happy reading.
ReplyDeleteI've seen the books around for ages but just got book 1 this week. I got a bit confused with the two different series names and different covers! Mind you if I like it I have nowhere to put the entire series at the moment!
DeleteI've read Touch and I really enjoyed it and I need to read the other books :) Your post was a reminder! Great haul and thanks for stopping by My Haul!
ReplyDeleteIt's funny, sometimes I forget how many tbrs I have and how great they sound! I look at them every day in my room and don't think twice about it but when I look at my Goodreads pages, I realise how much needs to be done! Pesky authors need to stop releasing more books!!!
DeleteOh your poor mum! I hope she's doing better and home soon. Enjoy all your new books. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Bea...we hope she might get home on Monday or Tuesday, fingers crossed. looking after her at home was easier than going to that hospital because it is like a sauna in that ward!!!
DeleteI hope you'll find a book you love! It really sucks that you haven't really finished anything for two weeks :/ I hope one of these will grab you right away :D Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteThe one I'm reading now is very slow...it better pick up or I'll be abandoning it!
DeleteAwh, another crappy week for you. :( Hope it's a lot better this week, (and for your mum). At least you finished that book, hope reading this week goes better for you, too. I haven't heard of many of these (except Touch- which has been on my TBR pile for ages). Hope you enjoy them and thanks for stopping by mine earlier! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm certainly hoping for a quieter week, that's for sure! I got Touch mainly to try the author but I REALLY want to read Darker Days! I love the cover and hope it comes out in paperback soon!
DeleteI've been in a bit of a slump too. I hope you have better luck soon. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteTsuki’s STS
Reading slumps are so depressing especially if you have a huge tbr to get through! I've managed to read three nights in a row now so maybe I'm coming out the slump...
DeleteSorry about your mum, hope she is feeling better. Nice book haul. Hope you enjoy them.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jenea-she got out of hospital looking much better than when she went in on Easter Sunday!
DeleteOh my gosh, I hope your mother feels better. How scary.
ReplyDeleteIt's been a tough six months for the family with the cancer diagnosis but we're hoping the treatment might shrink the bugger a bit.
DeleteI've heard of Jus Accardo, but I haven't read her books. But when I saw that cover, I thought that it looks just like a Jennifer Armentrout cover!
ReplyDeleteStephanie @ Inspiring Insomnia
I really want her book Darker Days as it has such a great cover...must show patience until it appears on paperback. It's not like I'll run out of books to read! I think I've only read one of Jennifer's books and it was a decent read but I can't remember what the cover looked like!
DeleteI hope you'll get a quiet week soon, you definitely deserve it. Wishing your mum a speedy recovery too. Lots of interesting looking books this week, I hope you enjoy them all and thanks for checking out my haul :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind thoughts-the whole family appreciate them! I'm having better luck with reading this week so that's better. Now I need to catch up on 40 reviews that need to be written..EEK!
DeleteI'm so sorry to hear about your mum, that must have been really distressing. How is she doing now?
ReplyDeleteShe's out of hospital with medication for an infection and her potassium and magnesium levels restored so she looks much better. We're waiting to hear if she's getting her 4th chemo this week or next week and we hope to get scan results about the progress of treatment in the next week or so. We're hoping it might shrink the cancer a bit, fingers crossed. It's been a long six months, that's for sure!
DeleteAren't free books on amazon so exciting. I can never resist them.

Sadly, I rarely can resist a freebie which is why my tbr is WAY out of control!
DeleteLooks like a good haul! I hope you enjoy them.
