Welcome to my feature Chuckles Weekend
Roundup where I will be looking at what books I've received, anything
interesting I've done or bought or watched and other random stuff. I'll
be taking a look back at what happened in my blogging world too, sort of
like The Sunday Post that some of you do!
Please note that I'll be visiting your
STS/SP as normal, but I don't follow or leave comments on blogs run by
Google Plus, or DISQUS as I refuse to join something just to leave
comments, and I won't allow DISQUS to follow new people, update my
profile or post tweets 'on my behalf'. I am the only one who does that
on my social media! I won't comment on any blog that makes me sign in using another account. Sometimes,
I have problems leaving messages on blogs hosted by
Wordpress-they try to block me because I deleted my account with them but I will persevere as it only happens the odd time!
Sorry for another week of just not being around. All will be explained by Dave on my Autumn Blues post which will be coming today or tomorrow. I've been so busy this last few days it hasn't even been funny! Now it is a few days of trying to rest, relax and catch up with everything which is going to be a riot when I've been letting everything slide recently. But more of that later.
I've been good this week and not bought any books. I'll be going into my non buying hibernation in the next month so I sort of have two weeks to get the last of the things I'll be needing. I have been concentrating on a chocolate supply for the winter to keep me going! My dad and I love our peanuts so that has been a priority too. Everything is being delivered to our door. The virus seems to be out of control everywhere at the moment so my dad and I are staying in our house and garden other than twice a week maximum to go to the local shops if we need anything like bread and milk. Otherwise we intend to avoid contact with people!
Reading has been good this week despite how busy things have been. I've read two of those big Harry Potter behind the scenes books, which were both fun, and also re-read The Philosopher's Stone just because I felt like it. Oh, because I've missed four days of blogging, I'm extending my Halloween posts into this week and maybe next week to get them all posted. It hasn't been the Spooky Booky month I hoped for but events took over really. This coming week is going to be busy but I do hope to be around more.
Chuckles Blogging World
Of course I'm way behind in everything which is a surprise to nobody! I'll be catching up with you guys over the next few days.

Nothing new to report really. Just a lot of Harry Potter and trying to avoid the news channels which are on left wing snowflake overdrive at the moment. I'll also be glad when the US election is over though it could end up in a court if the result is disputed.

The Week Ahead
A lot of work around the house!

I have a bad feeling that the US Presidential race is going to go to court no matter who wins. It really feels like the beginning of the end for our country :-(
ReplyDeleteI've always enjoyed your election night coverage-I'll be recording it tonight to watch as live when I get up tomorrow morning so I won't know the result until your Wednesday morning. I say 'result' because I too think there will be challenges on postal votes and late votes and whether people in the queues got to vote or not.
DeleteI never agree with protest marches to yell that you don't like the result. ie Trump's 2016 win/Conservative 2019 win in UK. If one person/party wins the election clearly and fairly by your system of electoral college or ours of party with most votes wins, that should be it. Democracy has chosen the leader of your country and just because your favourite lost, screaming 'not our leader' won't achieve anything.
However this US election feels different because there are so many legal challenges BEFORE it even gets to election day over what can be counted and when, that it makes my head spin. Seeing people boarding up their property for fear of riots is really worrying.
I'm still struggling to find time on my computer. Hopefully I'll get back to visiting more ASAP! I bought a bunch of books recently. I call it therapy. LOL
ReplyDeleteYou've had such a crazy time of it recently! I appreciate every visit you make here and I understand that you're busy, so don't worry about it! I'll still be here, plodding along, and will be pleased to see you when time allows!
Deleteglad reading is going well and i have been hit and miss with my blogging too. mr wonderful has some freelance going this month, so i will be busting butt to catch up on writing reviews and hopefully blogging ahead a bit. i hate going to the blog knowing i have to create a post tomorrow and the next day....

I'm pleased with the reading this week. I just wish I could get on with some proper fiction to get on with tackling the tbr! I didn't get to blog ahead this week but I did have extra posts left over from October so I can at least use them! Good luck!
DeleteYou're doing better than me! I've barely read or blogged in weeks lol
ReplyDeleteI just feel no urge. I think I have election/pandemic fatigue and I've been cooking and cleaning instead.
Karen @ For What It's Worth
I can imagine that both are wearing you out! I'm glad I don't have to vote during this pandemic, that's for sure but we have Scottish Parliament elections next year to dread!
