Welcome to my feature Chuckles Weekend
Roundup where I will be looking at what books I've received, anything
interesting I've done or bought or watched and other random stuff. I'll
be taking a look back at what happened in my blogging world too, sort of
like The Sunday Post that some of you do!
Please note that I'll be visiting your
STS/SP as normal, but I don't follow or leave comments on blogs run by
Google Plus, or DISQUS as I refuse to join something just to leave
comments, and I won't allow DISQUS to follow new people, update my
profile or post tweets 'on my behalf'. I am the only one who does that
on my social media! I won't comment on any blog that makes me sign in using another account. Sometimes,
I have problems leaving messages on blogs hosted by
Wordpress-they try to block me because I deleted my account with them but I will persevere as it only happens the odd time!
Right, it has been another busy week off the blog. I was trying to catch up after last week but of course it put me behind for this week again! I can't seem to find time for much at the moment! I have a few packages arriving, a food delivery today, lots of housework and prep work for the big upheaval coming to my bedroom when I move the furniture and ongoing issues with my uncle's house. It feels like never ending work at the moment but I'll get through it eventually! The weather has been more stable this week thankfully and normal for the time of year.
I've continued reading a big non fiction book this week which is taking a while but it's a good read! Not a lot of progress for the TBR sadly but a good book anyway. As long as I'm reading something I'm happy, as this year has been a loss for reading anyway. I haven't been buying any books which is a good thing but stocking up on chocolate and Pringles for the winter! As of the end of next week I stop buying until January so I need to grab the last things I need this week. You can never have enough chocolate or Pringles!

I decided not to watch the election through the night so I recorded the coverage overnight and my dad and I watched it the next day instead. Like we thought, no clear result after election night and now the court stuff begins!

The Week Ahead
No real plans except tidying my room...groan!

Chocolate and Pringles are definite necessities! :D Enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteI'm all sorted for winter now! I just had to get the essentials sorted this week. Running out of either would be a disaster!
DeleteYeah, things are looking pretty grim for the election results. No matter what is decided, a lot of people are going to feel that they were cheated out of their vote. That is not good, no matter what.
ReplyDeleteIt was a lot closer than the polls predicted for sure. Biden might have got the 270 but it's not a ringing endorsement of him is it. Personally I was concerned to hear talk about counting ballots posted on polling day even if they don't arrive until after the polls closed. Surely people who post it on polling day can't expect it to get there on time so why is it counted? Rules in the UK are if your postal vote doesn't arrive at the count by the time the polls close, it won't be counted!
DeleteI’m also reading a massive nonfiction book right now. It’s taking me forever to get through because it’s hard to concentrate with all the stress in my country right now. Enjoy your chocolate and Pringles. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
I'm finding it pretty hard to concentrate on anything except non fiction and Harry Potter re-reads! I have a big stash of chocolate and Pringles so it'll be a good winter for eating!
DeleteWe tend to buy pringles in the summer (for picnics and stuff) and throughout December for the festive pig-out. I'm sorely tempted to start early this year... What the heck, I'm in lockdown until December anyway! :)
ReplyDeleteHope you have a good weekend!
I'm always ready for a festive pigout! I've got 12 prawn cocktail Pringles, 5 Texas BBQ, 6 sour cream or whatever it is and 3 salt and vinegar. I'm not going to count the Lindor boxes and bars plus two After Eight mints!
DeleteGet munching, you deserve it!
Well, it was definitely a long week on this end but there is a light at the end of the tunnel which for once doesn't look like a freight train. However, on a downer, my state's COVID daily cases are higher than they've ever been. I sense another forced hibernation coming. Good thing I function well as a bear.
ReplyDeleteBear DNA is a useful thing to have for sure! Covid in Scotland is mostly in care homes and hospitals but we're taking no chances and staying in as much as possible. My dad always goes out masked and we have handwash in supply for the car and house too. Hibernation for Chuckles has not ended since February!
DeleteIt just seems hard to get anything done right now. Such a strange year. I do agree that as long as you are reading and enjoying it then it is a good thing.
ReplyDeleteIt's been quite a year for sure. I still have a few things I want done but time is running out before I rest for the winter!
DeleteYou always seem to be so busy. I've been trying to get some reading in while Ken is sleeping.
ReplyDeleteHousework never seems to take a holiday and it is always there, making demands on your time when you don't feel like doing it. I think I operate on nervous energy and find it harder to relax at the moment-probably the Covid fears and stuff.
