AOTW #17: Yannis Karatsioris

Welcome to Author of the Week! Every week on my book group, an author member is chosen to be Author of the Week and will be featured here, tweeted on Twitter, shared on Google Plus and Pinterest and generally treated like royalty! Group members are asked to do features and talk about our AOTW to help each one to promote his/her work to the book community.

This week: Yannis Karatsioris!

A sarcastic storyteller traps three characters in his web in order to get hold of a special book.

Daniel, Cassidy and Igor are three unique individuals, considered outcasts for different reasons. They are about to meet and stick together, as coincidences and forced situations lead them to a journey all around Europe.

As everyone is after the Book of the Forsaken, the coming Game is about to take place on the dark side of the moon. But there is a cost to that knowledge. Let alone to the wish to partake.

"The Book of the Forsaken" got the gold medal on's HarperCollins UK hosted competition on Feb 1. 2012.

Emilian's Finest is an old-style circus put together with a purpose. This isn't their shows. Hermes hides in the circus and awaits for the rest of them to make their move. In his words: "Jaelle the Fortuneteller and Emilian the Ringmaster are the ones guarding the circus from anyone who's not being nice. The Bringers of Death want to kill. The Magi want to know. The Upyri want to kill and then know. They all suspect I'm in there, hiding, scheming, mocking them. They are coming for the book, for the ones who sleep; they are coming for me. Let's see what happens."

The Ten Arcane Traditions of the northern lands of Arnath gather to face an enemy moving in the shadows for thousands of years.

The One Council is being summoned once again long after its last appearance. Six sentient ones, who serve the purpose of the One Council, take on responsibilities that lead them to the eye of the cyclone of the war raging in every part of the north.

Imprisoned spirits, corrupt governments, dark assistants and powerful allies that turn into traitors: all force their way into the lives of the six mages, in a time when the world is the stake and results do matter.

Grom and Groth are the fortresses of the northern lands of Arnath that are going to have to withstand the full force of Vengrul and his demon horde.

The Arcane Traditions will enforce the walls and, despite the betrayals and the superficial egoism that comes out at the most crucial of times among them, they will do their best.

When Vengrul marches against the capital of the North, will everyone realize the importance of their decisions? And will Shantor Jahl and his companions figure out what the Hierophant of Winds has planned for them to do?

In the second and final volume of the Abyss Wars saga, the world of Arnath faces oblivion and a happy ending is not something anyone should hope for…
