Welcome to my feature Chuckles Weekend Roundup where I will be looking at what books I've received, anything interesting I've done or bought or watched and other random stuff. I'll be taking a look back at what happened in my blogging world too, sort of like The Sunday Post that some of you do!
Please note that I'll be visiting your STS/SP as normal, but I don't follow or leave comments on blogs run by Google Plus, or DISQUS as I refuse to join something just to leave comments, and I won't allow DISQUS to follow new people, update my profile or post tweets 'on my behalf'. I am the only one who does that on my social media! I won't comment on any blog that makes me sign in using another account. Sometimes, I have problems leaving messages on blogs hosted by Wordpress-they try to block me because I deleted my account with them but I will persevere as it only happens the odd time!

It's the end of another week and Chuckles creeped out of her hibernation to do a bit of necessary shopping. I won't be resuming the supermarket visits until nearer the end of the month thankfully. Ugh I hate food and clothes shopping! I'd much rather be in the house blogging, reading and watching TV! Sadly the supermarkets I use most don't do home deliveries which is a pity. Anyway, the supermarket can wait a bit yet as we have plenty supplies in the house.
I'm waiting on a few Amazon packages to arrive. Some of the books ordered are paperback copies of books I read and enjoyed on ebook so that won't affect my TBR which is always a good thing. One is an updated version of a book I have-I really wanted to read the new chapters! Only two books are totally new to me so no real damage to the TBR. I'm also waiting on a furry niffler and a couple of T Shirts. I love waiting for those Amazon boxes to arrive and the buzz that comes from it! My reading is also going nicely and I've already had a couple of days off to watch TV which has also been enjoyable so the new routine feels a lot less stressful than last year.

I've managed to keep pretty much on top of things as the week comes to and end and I even got a little bit done on writing out my General Election stats. Not much but every bit helps and it's a huge task that will take months anyway-but I'm pleased to make a start with it being one of the many tasks on my list. I'm also weeding through the ebooks saved on the computer and deleting those I've bought on paperback or won't read again. I'm also looking at stuff that no longer interests me. Another little bit done will get me there in the end!

I'm feeling a horror mood coming on so next up are these reads! I'm hoping for a blitz this week of mad serial killers and zombies!

I don't mind food shopping, as long as I go really early, because the detest the crowds. Clothes shopping is always disappointing, but I mostly do it online, from sites that have actual stores nearby for easy returns. I hope all your packages arrive shortly and that you enjoy them.
ReplyDeleteI always get to the mall or supermarket as it opens so we can be done and home by lunchtime and avoid the worst of the crowds. It's less stressful that way! Clothes shopping online is a pure lottery at my size sadly!
DeleteI received Slimer for Christmas in 2018 and still haven't had a moment to read it :( I hope you love all of your purchases.
ReplyDeleteI remember watching the horror film many years ago but can't recall much about it. I was pleased to get hold of a copy of the book!
DeleteOur market is almost right next door. It's across the parking lot but well within walking distance. It's been there a couple of years but Ken does the shopping because of my Agoraphobia and anxiety I haven't been able to go in yet but I'm working on it.
ReplyDeleteI order a lot of our paper goods and a few other things this market doesn't have from Walmart online. So I love when those boxes come.
I can't drive so my dad has to take me to the supermarket. I'm not a person who enjoys leaving the house and only do it if I really have to. Anxiety is not fun at all-I've had my share of that over the years so I have real sympathy for what you must go through. I think walking the dog like you do is a great step forward for you so well done on that!
DeleteI don't mind grocery shopping. I tend to do smaller trips so it's not overwhelming. And I get to go early when no one else is there.
ReplyDeleteI do hate clothes shopping though. If I find something I like I just buy 5 of it so I'm done for the year lol

I like to do one big shop and not need to go for six weeks as my dad hates the shopping too! He's due to get a knee operation next month so I'll need to get stocked up on everything we need as he won't be driving for a bit! Clothes shopping is horrible but thankfully I never need much!
DeleteCan't wait for the reviews from the Halloween book and I've always been curious about Slimer.
ReplyDeleteShould be working on the reviews this weekend with any luck as I've now completed everything from last year and just have about six to do for this year.
DeleteAh cute pic! And I love the sight of an amazon box on the porch. :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
Snoozing dogs and Amazon deliveries-it doesn't get much better than that! I've been picking up a few more political books second hand through Amazon which has saved a bit of money!
DeleteI love getting Amazon boxes too. If I know that one is coming, I run to the door as soon as I hear the mail truck on my street.
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
It is exciting knowing that the packages are coming that day! It gives me the book buzz!
DeleteI really detest clothes shopping and shoe shopping is absolute torture! Food shopping, however, I don't mind so much. However, the little dude and professor make it so torturous that I just bite the bullet and shop online with home delivery. It costs more (which is irritating!) but it saves me a load of time and grief. 🙄
ReplyDeleteUrgh I used to hate shopping for shoes! Now I exist with only trainers and comfy boots! I tend to go and get the clothes while my dad goes to HMV!
DeleteI do love watching for Amazon parcels to arrive, sigh. It's just so satisfying to order a book and watch it come in in such good time. I know indie bookstores need to be supported too, but the instant gratification of Amazon is hard to resist sometimes!
ReplyDeleteWe don't have a single indie bookstore anywhere near us, just one Waterstones at the mall between us and Glasgow. I don't know if Glasgow has a few as I never go there-hard to get parked and the public transport would drive you crazy!
DeleteI had no idea that there were Halloween books! How did I not know this?! Sometimes I don't mind shopping, sometimes I enjoy it, and sometimes I hate it. It depends on a lot of things. Right now I am trying to figure out how long we can really go before we absolutely have to go to the store so I guess I hate it today :) Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI read Halloween I think last year and was pleased to find the rest along with a few other older horror books that are also films! I have more to add to TBR!
DeleteI'm a person who would be happy never to have to set foot outside my house and have everything delivered!
that's my idea of relaxing. :-) some great looking books

Books are always needed to relax with! I like looking around my book cave and feeling comforted by having all those old friends beside me!
