Chuckles Weekend Roundup

Welcome to my feature Chuckles Weekend Roundup where I will be looking at what books I've received, anything interesting I've done or bought or watched and other random stuff. I'll be taking a look back at what happened in my blogging world too, sort of like The Sunday Post that some of you do!

Please note that I'll be visiting your STS/SP as normal, but I don't follow or leave comments on blogs run by Google Plus, or DISQUS as I refuse to join something just to leave comments, and I won't allow DISQUS to follow new people, update my profile or post tweets 'on my behalf'. I am the only one who does that on my social media! I won't comment on any blog that makes me sign in using another account. Sometimes, I have problems leaving messages on blogs hosted by Wordpress-they try to block me because I deleted my account with them but I will persevere as it only happens the odd time!

Phew, I'm glad this week is over! Those who have read my Chuckles Chuntering Post this week know what a struggle I had so I won't repeat it all hear. Let's focus on the plus side-the end of the dental treatments has left my mouth looking normal and healthy and I'm so pleased! I also have a plan to de-stress my blogging and home life and have a bit more fun! Overall I'm in a good place this weekend and feeling a lot better about everything. Hopefully I'm now back on track for a good final few months of this year!

I FINALLY picked up a book and started reading again! I hadn't been near one since the weekend so I was pretty happy, even though the book wasn't the greatest and I DNFed it! I got some book reviews done, watched some good TV, chilled out...overall a good couple of days since the middle of the week. I intend to treat myself to celebrate the end of dental fear and I have my eyes on a few books coming out next month which I might just treat myself to. I've been looking at these books for months so it'll be exciting to grab a few! I restrained myself for book buying so no new additions, but I'm adding a few this week from my backlog pile.

I've been chilling out and watching season 11 of American Ninja Warrior which was great, also seasons one and two of Outback Opal Hunters, afternoon reruns of Outback Truckers, Deadliest Catch, Timber Kings and Bering Sea Gold, and continuing season 10 of My Kitchen Rules! Hopefully more good TV this week.

Thankfully my mini slump for reading was over quickly and I got back to my reading at the end of this week. Last night I DNFed Sadie Walker is Stranded which was poor and moved on to Cabin at the end of the World. Hmm the writing style is a bit weird and I'm really not sure if I'm going to like this one! I'll continue it tonight. Next up will be, I hope, these three selections depending of course on mood!

    1. The fear of going ended up way worse than the actual treatment so it is a relief for it to be over!

  6. Too bad about the DNF but at least you're reading again! Hopefully the next book was fantastic. And yay for the dentist stuff being over. I'm so glad you're pleased. Hope you have a great week!

    1. It seems to be nothing but DNFs at the moment! I had another 4 this week! Still, it all counts to reduce the TBR so I'm not complaining! I'm not sorry to see the end of the dental treatment either!

    1. When I started the dental treatment I was so scared and the thought of all the treatment was horrible. Now I'm so pleased to have got through it all unscathed!

  8. Glad to hear the dental treatments are over and you have a de-stress plan for home/the blog! Good luck with it!

I do like Ninja Warrior... It was the American version that got me hooked. I wish I could try one of the courses but I wouldn't last 5 seconds as I'm uncoordinated and have zero upper body strength! 😂

    1. If these stupid banks and things would stop annoying us, I'd do a lot better! It's American Ninja Warrior that is my favourite too! I have about 30 favourites each season that I want to win! I'm the same...no coordination or upper body strength! I also have no sense of balance!
