Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish
in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of
2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to
bring bookish friends together. http://www.thatartsyreadergirl.com/top-ten-tuesday/

I'm going to do something different. Food and Drink that appeared in books I read. I had to use Harry Potter a few times as my mind went blank!
1) Ginger Beer
Every time Enid Blyton's Famous Five went off on an adventure, they always made sure they had lashings of ginger beer to satisfy their thirst! I remember this vividly! I was so disappointed when I tried ginger beer as it has a harsh taste that I've never really enjoyed!
2) Butterbeer
On a cold and wet day, it is difficult not to think of Harry and his friends taking the delights of a Butterbeer or two! It just sounds like a really tasty and soothing drink to have and I'd love to try it.
3) Turkish Delight
This came to my attention the first time I read The Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe. Edmund stuffing his face with it, ready to betray his family just to get it really bugged me. I did eventually try and enjoy Turkish Delight but prefer it smothered in chocolate...
4) Direwolf Bread
I want this so bad! The actor in Game of Thrones that played Hot Pie opened a bakery called You Know Nothing John Dough, and serves direwolf bread!

5) Lembas
In Lord of the Rings I was curious about how this would taste. I liked the idea of a small piece being able to sustain you for a while, which is what you need on an epic quest like this one!
6) Honeydukes Chocolate
Letting me loose in Honeydukes would be a very bad thing! I am a huge fan of any kind of milk or white chocolate and I drool at the thought of browsing those shelves and the smell of it in my nostrils! I WANT MY LETTER!!!
7) Gingerbread
I love the taste of gingerbread and when I heard the fairy tales of the gingerbread house I wanted to chew my way through it! It was also very popular at the Tudor Court so I think I might have enjoyed some of the feasts!
8) Baking
I always loved the aroma of baking in the kitchen at my mum's house or her cousin's house, and getting to hoover up what was in the mixing bowl. I'd love to be assistant to Maurice the Closet Monster in the Monster Haven books who bakes when stressed and is a great cook!
9) Hogwarts Feasts
There are many reasons to want to go to Hogwarts and the feasts are one of the best reasons! I can imagine all the great things I love eating appearing there...sushi, tikka masala, mac and cheese, pizza, cakes, rhubarb crumble, southern fried chicken, caramel cake...*sigh*
10) Lemon Cakes
Sansa loves her lemon cakes and gets the chance to eat lots of this at King's Landing. It's about the only good thing about the place. Being a fan of cakes, including lemon versions, I am enthusiastic about her choice!
