Hi everyone.
I haven't been online at all since my last update. It's been an ongoing nightmare of trying to get things unpacked from those bloody binbags, ripping and shredding stuff, moving and removing things, sorting through all the books and bookcases, rearranging cds and dvds into storage units and finding somewhere to store the things. My dad and I are pretty fed up as we are sorting out both bedrooms at the same time, trying to help each other, but we're tired, fed up and frustrated with it all. When we're resting in between the stuff we're doing, all we want to do is just flop in front of the TV to watch darts or favourite films.
Blogging has fallen by the wayside at the moment as I just can't deal with Blogger and its carry on on top of all the hassle. I haven't read a book all month and don't feel like it, even though I know I need to start clearing books out of the house. Covid restrictions in my area continue to tighten and while my dad and I are staying safe, charity shops and other places are still closed so we can't get rid of what we no longer want or need so more bags of books and rubbish are lying everywhere and getting in our way. It is all getting me down at the moment. I hate neglecting you all but I feel that until I get all this crap taken care of, I struggle to concentrate on anything else.
Today I'm going to try and answer all the comments you guys have left on the blog and then visit some blogs over the next few days to try and get back into a routine. All I really want to do is stay in my bed all day but as nice as it sounds, it ain't going to help in getting productive stuff done. I will be trying to do better in keeping in touch and getting things done.
Thanks for your patience.
Chuckles

Best of luck!
ReplyDeleteI think I'll need it...
DeleteSorry the cleanup has been a struggle. I feel your pain about not being able to get rid of books. I can’t keep the majority of the books I read because there’s not enough space. I can’t get rid of them because the used bookstore is closed, and the post office is often closed too. Books have been piling up in the closet since March. All I want for Christmas is a COVID vaccine! I need it before I die under a pile of books.
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
Books and bags of clothes seem to be piled everywhere at the moment so the house looks like a jumle sale gone wrong. I'm supposed to get a vaccine in April but I fear it will be nearer the summer. Everything here is going to be locked down until at least February so the nightmare continues. It's a right pain isn't it.
Deletei get it and feel the same way. i have stuff stacked in the shed, garage and guest bedroom. i am not highly motivated to do much either. times are tough and we just have to bear through it

I'm sick of looking at all the junk I need to get rid of. I'm tempted to put it in the garden and see if someone steals it...
DeleteCleaning and sorting can be a nightmare, can't it? Especially when you can't get rid of any of the piles you've sorted out. I'd probably just give up. Hang in there. And try to enjoy your weekend. :D
ReplyDeleteI'm sick of the sorting but its about ten years overdue so I've only myself to blame. Just my luck that the year I decide to sort it all, we get a global pandemic. Great!
DeleteIt sounds like you’ve got your hands full, I know how frustrating it is to have bags waiting to go to charity shops, it’s the same here. I don’t think it’s going to get better anytime soon, it’s started to appear in my kids school and at my husbands work and I’m petrified one of them gets it.
ReplyDeleteDo not beat yourself up, imagine how great everything will look once it’s finished.
We took charity shops for granted along with the dump being open all the time. Now we certainly miss it. Cases are still rising and the first of those new strains is in the Glasgow area which is not great news really. We'll be locked down until Easter at this rate. I hope your family stay safe.
DeleteGlad to hear you guys are still safe!! I hope things calm down for you soon <3
ReplyDeleteThings in my area aren't too great so we're scared to go out now. Great fun and 2021 isn't looking much brighter.
DeleteAw hang in there Chuckles! It is frustrating for sure to clear things out and be buried in stuff, especially when shops are closed and you can't unload! I think watching some darts or a a fave movie sounds like a pretty good break. :)
ReplyDeleteThings are going to stay shut in my area for months to come by the look of it so my house will be chaos until then by the looks of it. The darts will be back on either tomorrow or the day after so I look forward to that.
DeleteTake your time and get all the sorting done. That can take a while, I know. I haven't read a whole lot recently either.
ReplyDeleteI sort of feel like I'll never get my reading mojo back. It's like the stress and fear just sucked my reading love out of me. I struggle to concentrate. Maybe we won't get that back until 2022 if things are back to some kind of normal.
DeleteI hate sorting and reorganizing when it takes over like that. Small jobs quickly become enormous and it's so exhausting. Hopefully things will get settled soon.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a quick job but always turns into a nightmare doesn't it!
DeleteI get it... Take your time, do what you can and give yourself a break. Especially on the blogging front! It'll all still be there when you're in the mood for it.
ReplyDeleteI'm on a break from it all until this stupid virus naffs off. Now I just want to get back to clearing up!
DeleteI think that taking a break when needed is the best thing that you can do for yourself. Just do what you can do and jump back in whenever it feels right.
ReplyDeleteI'll need to leave it until next year now, which is annoying. Stupid stomach bug is driving me mad!
