Welcome to my feature Chuckles Weekend Roundup where I will be looking at what books I've received, anything interesting I've done or bought or watched and other random stuff. I'll be taking a look back at what happened in my blogging world too, sort of like The Sunday Post that some of you do!
Please note that I'll be visiting your STS/SP as normal, but I don't follow or leave comments on blogs run by Google Plus, or DISQUS as I refuse to join something just to leave comments, and I won't allow DISQUS to follow new people, update my profile or post tweets 'on my behalf'. I am the only one who does that on my social media! I won't comment on any blog that makes me sign in using another account. Sometimes, I have problems leaving messages on blogs hosted by Wordpress-they try to block me because I deleted my account with them but I will persevere as it only happens the odd time!

This really hasn't been a productive month for me so far. I figured that once the lockdown began I'd feel better-sit tight, stay home and things will be ok. Instead I seem to be having non stop stress over my uncle's stupidity, trying to get signed up for food delivery services for the months ahead, stressing over every cough and ailment, the do I stay or go from Twitter debate and now there seems to be an issue with my bank that I can't go and get sorted at the moment so I can't order off Amazon for a while. I'm about ready to scream, I really am. My stress is also getting my dad stressed and he's hardly sleeping at all. I'm sick of it! I'd love to just spend a week in my bed forgetting about it all!
I took a break from the blog over Easter so there isn't much to really report. I'm hoping to have a more normal weekend and get back into my normal routine for next week. I've done a bit of reading but it has been pretty slow progress. Amazon deliveries are still coming in. I topped up on my scrapbook supplies, got some more long term food ie big jars of curry and pasta sauce powder which will last ages. My meat and fish order arrived so that will nicely stock up the freezer again. A delivery from Asda will come next week and I'll be fully restocked for several months which is good.
Hope all of you are doing well out there in the scary world. For those who are facing more difficult times, my thoughts are with you.

Sorry about the stress and the stupid uncle. I had to take a break from Twitter too. All the conspiracy theories and death updates were getting depressing.
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
Yes the conspiracy theories about the NHS being involved in faking our PM being in hospital was so dumbass! That and the 5G masts spreading the virus. I read so many apocalypse books but few cover the mental stress of dealing with the disaster-I was unprepared for that level of stress!
DeleteThese are stressful times. I thought I would get so much done but it just isn't happening. Getting supplies is time consuming. I just received an email that the toilet paper I ordered will take another month to arrive so I guess I am going to have to get in a mess of people to try to find some locally. I hope you have a wonderful week and get the chance to relax and forget about things for a bit.
ReplyDeleteIf I lived in your area I'd bring you a pack! It's one thing I shudder about running out of. This whole pandemic has shown me which preps I got right and which were lacking. It'll let me make improvements for next time. My dad no longer thinks I'm paranoid for having a few boxes of masks and gloves in the house! Be careful on the Great Bog Roll Hunt!
DeleteI think we're all feeling the stress of this pandemic, no matter where we are. It's just hard. But talking with other people who are going through it too helps. So hang in there! And try and find lots of good things to enjoy this weekend. :D
ReplyDeleteTalking has certainly helped, knowing that everyone else is feeling the same strain and have the same worries. I'm getting ratty with the media here constantly being critical of everything the government does, asking the same questions at the briefing every day and not being happy with the same answers and continually printing predicted death tolls to scare everyone!
DeleteThis weekend will be full of beer, junk food, lots of Deadliest Catch and Gold Rush episodes, a re-read of the Prisoner of Azkaban and maybe a couple of Harry Potter or Jurassic Park films...
Hang in there! I think a lot of us are reaching out breaking point. Try to get some rest and stay safe☺
ReplyDeleteEvery time I start to relax a little, something stress enducing seems to happen and this week is no exception! As soon as these final deliveries come, I might hibernate in my bed for a month!
DeleteI hope the issues with your bank aren't too serious. Nobody needs that sort of stress right now. Sounds like you are stocked up, though, which is great. Hang in there!
ReplyDeleteI ran out of money in my account because of all the online buying! What an idiot I am for not checking!!!
DeleteStress isn't good. It's completely understandable given everything going on though. I'm trying to just live in the moment and I'm avoiding the news.
ReplyDeleteI end up getting so worked up that I feel sick so I really need to try and stay as calm as I can! I listen to the government statement every day and then switch off when the questions start as it's the same thing every day!
DeleteI'm so sorry to hear about all the stresses - especially with your uncle. There's always someone who just won't see sense and it sounds like he is one of those. Hope this week is better and I vote for staying off Twitter. At the beginning of all this I found it useful but lately it's been just stress and drama.
ReplyDeleteHe's so stubborn! He's been offered help from a neighbour's family and rejected it. He's hopeless!!! I'm avoiding Twitter bile and the TV news, instead browsing internet news sites and reading only what I want.
