Chuckles Chuntering

The zombie monkey above pretty much sums up how I felt watching that third episode of Game of Thrones. I loved the battle and I shed a ton of tears through it for a few favourite characters who died. It was traumatic! Now we have three episodes to go and I'm getting nervous about how things are going to end. I want to see Jon or Tyrion on the throne but I really want both to live. And Ghost. And Davos, Jaime, Brienne, Arya, Tormund...ok let's not go there! I'm a nervous wreck again this weekend waiting for the next episode.

Oh and the show writers have said that the Spotify playlist they created gives the ending to the series. “The answer to the ending is one hundred percent hidden in the playlist choices,” Benioff and Weiss told For the Record in an email. “No one will believe us, but it’s true.” Of course I had to look and I'll be studying the list tonight! Here is the link to the playlist if you're interested!

I've been obsessing over Game of Thrones this week, rewatching the first three episodes several times looking for clues, skimming the books for details on prophecies and plots, rewatching season one on DVD and treating myself to a few of the full size figures. My collection now has Varys, Sansa, Jorah, Margaery, Tyrion, Bran and Hodor, Littlefinger, Greyworm, Tywin, Joffrey, Oberyn, Brienne. I have a few on order due next week including Arya but still a good few to collect. Some of them are still way outside my budget so I'll have to wait and hope they reduce! I do have the complete 6" set they released then stopped making and a handful of small ones too. I do love looking at the sets! I'm planning to set up a proper display and get a photo.

My dad got about a quarter of the front fence sanded last week so I got the first coat onto that section. It is a nice pink/red raspberry kind of colour and the neighbours have been admiring it. Hopefully this week we'll get the rest of the sanding and first coat done. I want the fences done by the end of the month if all goes well with the weather so I can concentrate on reading more this summer and putting my feet up!

I'm feeling good about my reading at the moment and getting through a lot of apocalypse books which I'm really in the mood for. I'm getting a few quickly read, a few DNFed and deleting series I'm no longer interested in following, all of which is reducing the TBR nicely. I plan to tackle more over the weekend and it will get some space on my bookshelves for these Game of Thrones figures.

Anything exciting planned this weekend?

  1. I don't watch Game of Thrones but I hear it's good. I tried watching a few episodes of it and couldn't get into it. I'm sure you'll be glad once that fence is done.

    1. Season one is more of an introduction to the world, the characters and the fueds. It doesn't really kick off until about the last four episodes of the series and that is when I got hooked!

    1. There are some very interesting song titles on there! I hope Burn The Fleet might be coming for Euron this week!

  3. I'm loving GoT. I genuinely have no idea how it'll end and I don't think I really care as long as Cersei gets bumped off... Preferably by Arya.

    1. Cersei has to die or I'll go mad! Give me King Tyrion or King Aegon and I'll be happy. I can settle for King Gendry as long as the other two live!

  4. I am very much looking forward to tonight's GoT episode. I bet your figure collection is striking. I would love to see photos when you get everything the way you want it. I am kind of glad that I haven't read the books. I am enjoying the show on its own but do want to go back and read the books and then I will probably watch the show all over again. It is easy to get a bit obsessed with this world.

    1. There was stuff in that episode that made me yell with fury but I did enjoy it! I love those scenes with Varys and Tyrion! I'm getting anxious for this week's episode and I wish the rest of the books would hurry up!

    1. I have enjoyed all the episodes so far I must admit! There were things that had me yelling at the TV though-Jon not saying goodbye to Ghost, Jaime leaving Brienne GAH! I'm loving the scenes with Varys and Tyrion and Tyrion and Sansa though. Poor Gendry! He should marry Sam's sister. Part of me is sad to lose Tormund but at least he and Ghost are safe!

  7. I don't watch GOT but I am happy to hear the painting has started on the fence and I can't wait to see this color as it sounds like it would be awesome as I love all things pink.

    1. It's very much a raspberry type cover-more to pink than red. It brightens up the garden!
