40 Questions Tag

This tag was created by Melanie at https://sparksfromacombustiblemind.com/2018/10/19/forty-questions-randomly/. I saw it at Bookstooge's blog https://bookstooge.wordpress.com/ and decided to give it a go.

1. Do you like blue cheese?
Nope! As much as I love cheese, I just don't like blue cheese. I find it too strong tasting and pretty pongy! I prefer red leicester, monterey jack and mozzarella!

2. Coke or Pepsi?
I love a cold normal version Pepsi but I'm not drinking it now to reduce my sugar intake. I hate Diet Pepsi but I'm very partial to the Coke No Sugar Vanilla! I also like the Peach and Cherry versions.

3. Do you own a gun?
No. Unless you are a farmer or sportsperson, it is pretty much illegal to own a gun in the UK. If I lived in the US I would have guns in the house.

4. What flavor of Kool-aid?
Never tried it. I don't even know if you can buy it in UK shops though you can get it on Amazon I think.

5. Hot dogs?
I like a big hot dog smothered in ketchup and onions! I HATE soggy buns though!

6. Favorite TV show?
Game of Thrones, without a doubt, followed by Coronation Street. I also loved Buffy and The West Wing. I've seen bits of or whole seasons of some series that seemed good but need to catch up with like Supernatural, Scandal, Hannibal, Elementary, Haven, Nikita, Grimm, 24, Lost, Primeval, The Crown, Victoria, House of Cards, TheFollowing, The Blacklist etc!

7. Do you believe in ghosts?
Yes. There have been too many sightings for ghosts not to be real. What exactly they are is a whole other question though.

8. What do you drink in the morning?
A glass of milk most days if I remember. Soup on a very cold morning!

9. Can you do a push-up?
Har, not a chance! The nearest I get to a push up is watching SAS Who Dares Wins on TV!

10. Favorite Jewelry?
I don't really wear jewellery. I love my Game of Thrones and Canadian charm bracelets but I'm too scared to wear them outside in case I lose them!

11. Favorite Hobby?
Other than reading, I like slothing around watching my favourite TV and films.

12. Do you have ADD?
I assume this is ADHD? No.

13. Do you wear glasses?
No.

14. Favorite cartoon character?

Milk, Barr's Orange and Barr's Red Kola.

17. Current movies?
The films I most want to watch right now are Mamma Mia 2, Jurassic World 2, Rampage, Paddington 1 & 2, IT, Jeepers Creepers 3, Final Destination 5, a few SAW films I haven't seen, The Collector, The Purge series, King of Thieves, Hunger Games series, The Wizard of Lies.

I hate New Year and always go to bed before midnight.

I loved Cape Town and would love to go back. I would love to go to the Canadian Rockies, the canyons of the American West, Universal Studios Orlando, Machu Picchu, Scandanavian cruise, Iceland, the Italian volcanoes, Mt St Helens, Harry Potter Studio Tour, London, York, English War of the Roses battlefields, Hampton Court, and a ton of other stuff!

22. Name five people who will most likely read this?
Five of my regular blog followers I guess.

23. Favorite movie?
Jaws, Deep Blue Sea, Jurassic Park/World, Harry Potter, Aliens, The Godfather, Barnyard, Mamma Mia, A Bug's Life, Toy Story 2, The Mummy, The Fog, Fellowship of the Ring, Halloween, The Thing, The Running Man, Fright Night, Total Recall, Resident Evil, Doom.

24. Favorite color?
Blue.

Yeah but I never feel the urge to do it.

Sitting at the computer typing this.

29. Favorite food?

Changing the bed and cleaning the bathroom. Hate them both. Don't much like ironing or drying dishes or taking out the rubbish either!

31. Best job you can think of?
I can't think of a perfect job but being a successful horror writer would be fun! I like the idea of giving other people nightmares!

32. What’s in your pockets?
I don't have pockets in my PJs! In my normal jacket I carry paper tissues, shopping lists and money if I'm going to buy something.

33. Last thing that made you laugh?
Reading a few news stories about special snowflakes in the workplace!

34. Favorite animal?
I like pandas as they seem to have great personality, along with lemurs and meercats. At a zoo I once had a lemur on my shoulder and he was dead friendly though his tail kept tickling my nose! I'm fascinated by sharks and dinosaurs too.

35. What’s your most recent injury?
Some kind of burning pain in my elbow after sorting kitchen cupboards yesterday!

36. How many TVs are in your house?
Two.

37. Worst pain ever?
Getting my ingrown toenails removed after the local anaesthetic failed to work. I've never felt pain like it and I can see why this was used as a torture method.

38. Do you like to dance?
Not really. I resemble a hippo with a hula hoop...it's not a pretty sight!

39. Are your parents still alive?
My dad is. My mum died of cancer in 2014.

40. Do you enjoy camping?
Are you kidding? I read the most scary horror books you could imagine about serial killers and cannibals in the woods and at camp sites, plus I have a terror of spiders and other beasties with more legs than me. I'd never go camping! That's what hotels are for!

  1. Wow, this is a lot of questions. I want to travel to all the same places you do. Well, except the American west. I live there and have already seen a lot of it. I love camping. I’ve spent a lot of my life in creepy forests, so they feel like home to me.

    1. I cannot see myself in a creepy forest overnight! Cabins in the woods would even be a stretch for me with what I read!

  2. Camping my idea of a nightmare. I went and got certified when I was a Girl Scout leader, but thank goodness, my troop was NOT interested in camping. Buffy is one of my all-time favorite shows too. So good.

  3. I used to go camping as a kid but haven't in over 20 years. I am just not into freezing my butt off to pee anymore. As a kid it was fun as an adult no way. =)

  4. You liked Doom? Man, that movie was a crime against the awesomeness that was the videogame.

But Cheers! to Resident Evil. Never played those games so I didn't care WHAT the movies did. I've watched them all and should probably re-watch them at some point to see if I still like the older ones.

  5. What a fun tag. I'm going to maybe try this one after Halloween is done on my blog. You cracked me up about camping. I should feel the same way but my son and I are going to do some trips soon. I'll probably be up all night, scared stiff. LOL

  7. Count me in on no blue cheese too and there is no way I'm going camping. We used to have a camper when I was young and I enjoyed going, but I think the novelty wore off as I got older. I really hope the man came about the fence. I also remember The New Shmoo - there sure were some crazy cartoons when I was a kid. Mr. Barb and I were just talking last week about how there really aren't that many cartoons around anymore.

    1. He came on Monday to take a quick lot at the job to see if he was interested in it. Yesterday he came to measure and today he's going to price the materials and give us a quite tonight. I'm hopeful!

kids TV was great when I was growing up but the standard is poor now. British TV is not making the quality of shows now, instead importing shows set in American schools which are not the same at all!

  8. I JUST did this tag on FB. It's so interesting comparing answers with others -- I don't like koolaid, I think it should be used as only a dye. I had no idea you can't buy it in the UK!
