Welcome to my feature Chuckles Weekend Roundup where I will be looking at what books I've received, anything interesting I've done or bought or watched and other random stuff. I'll be taking a look back at what happened in my blogging world too, sort of like The Sunday Post that some of you do!
Please note that I'll be visiting your STS/SP as normal, but I don't follow or leave comments on blogs run by Google Plus, or DISQUS as I refuse to join something just to leave comments, and I won't allow DISQUS to follow new people, update my profile or post tweets 'on my behalf'. I am the only one who does that on my social media! I won't comment on any blog that makes me sign in using another account. Sometimes, I have problems leaving messages on blogs hosted by Wordpress-they try to block me because I deleted my account with them but I will persevere as it only happens the odd time!
****************
This week my dad and I got stuck in to the house tidying again. It was really time consuming sorting out important documents from what needs to be shredded, things set aside for repair, finding a new place for things, what to keep and what to chuck out, what to send to the charity shop and of course unpacking all my dad's cds and working out what order he wants them in. It's taking forever but we'll get there. Next week we have a couple of garden things we need to do and some more inside the house. We should be fully finished by the end of the month. That will be worth celebrating! It was so much work this week that blogging and reading took a back seat, which is why I wasn't posting as much and was late with answering comments and blog visiting. I'm not sure how much time I'll have this week but I'll try and keep up!
As I said I didn't get any reading done at all this week as I was just too tired to concentrate on a book. Instead, I was catching up with some TV that I'd recorded over the last few weeks and that was fun. This weekend I intend to chill out and continue with the TV until I feel the urge to read returning! Hopefully it won't be long but it means horror month has been a bit of a damp squib! It hasn't stopped me getting a few books though...naughty Chuckles! Anyway guys, have a good weekend and a good week to come!
DOWNLOADS
PAPERBACKS/HARDBACK
I had the ebook of Fire and Fury which I hadn't read but they were selling the hardback in The Works for £5 and I got it for £3 using the points on my loyalty card so that was too good a bargain to pass up, even though I don't like hardbacks!
OTHER STUFF
The same day I bought the Trump book, I was at the shopping centre with my dad and bought a nice new winter coat and a warm fluffy sweatshirt. Winter is coming and I'm ready for it! I'll be showing these new warm things off in upcoming posts for Barb's Books, Booze and Blankets.
Chuckles Blogging World
I mentioned earlier in the post that I was playing catchup all week with comments on my blog and visiting your blogs. I finally got caught up yesterday but it was all a bit of a carry on so I'll try and be more organised next week I hope. I did a cull of blogs I was following. None of the horror bloggers I followed last month have left even one comment on my blog so I've unfollowed them all. It might sound harsh but I have limited time online and I want to concentrate on the people who actually want to interact with their followers!

Lots of TV this week! I'm fully caught up with Coronation Street and enjoying reruns from 1990 on ITV3 in the afternoons. Also been catching up with S13 Great British Menu and The Great British Bake Off, which was fun!

Nice books! Fairmont sounds good and I added the author to my list. Funny you have Inferno Park. I just finished his Ghost Trapper series and started this one! Seeing a theme with parks going on here. LOL I don't even own a winter coat. I do have heavy jackets, gloves and hat though. We sometimes get pretty cold here but it doesn't last long. Enjoy the telly and I hope you get in some time for reading.
ReplyDeleteI went looking for a few theme park related books that were on my wishlist! I'm going to be doing another TTT on the subject soon so that was a good excuse to buy a few! I try to go out as little as possible in winter to avoid people with flu, fanatical Christmas shoppers and the same Christmas tunes playing in every shop!!!
DeleteI see Something Wicked up in your list. Love that story :-)
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've ever read anything by Bradbury which is a bit surprising so I'll give this one a go!
DeleteIt's great that by the end of the month you might be done. I hope all goes well. I haven't gotten out the winter coat but need to as we have been in the 30s at night and I have been freezing my butt off. Have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteMary
Got more of the kitchen tidied today. Basically just need to check out two cupboards to see what can go to the charity shop and then move the food from the old to the new kitchen cupboard and it's done!
DeleteSounds like your projects around the house are coming right along. I have some work that I need to get started on but just don't seem to have the energy. Sounds like you are all ready for winter. I bought myself a cozy wrap to wear around the house and office since I am always cold. Enjoy your new books and have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI've got maybe two days of kitchen work to do and that'll be me just about done. After that I have a couple of cupboards to check out in the living room for the charity shop pile and my work is done. My dad will be getting on with his cd stacks in his room at his leisure!
DeleteErk, I hate it when you put in a ton of effort to talk to other bloggers and they just... ignore it. I didn't comment back as much as I'd like for a while when I was mid-exams, but I felt so bad about it! I don't get how people can feel so blasé about not interacting with people.
ReplyDeleteYeah it's disappointing! I'm fine with regular pals having busy spells and not commenting as much because that's normal, and of course people get sick. But the people who never comment when you're visiting them most days, that's annoying!
DeleteSorry none of the horror bloggers interacted - they're giving us a bad name! I kind of took a small blogging hiatus this weekend and am now playing catch up as I jam out to Stevie Nicks this morning. I'm in a Stevie sort of mood. I don't think I could stomach a Trump book - seeing him in the news several times a day is more than enough for me.
ReplyDeleteIt was pretty disappointing as a few of the blogs were pretty good-but I need to give priority to you guys who visit regularly when my time is limited! I must admit I roll my eyes every time I hear Trump on his latest rant!
DeleteIt's all about priorities. It's worth taking the time to organize things the way you want the first time. I get culling your emails. I am looking for some new blogs to follow and have been checking your blog share posts the past couple of weeks. I took a quickie unexpected road trip so am late in commenting, but I do get to the blogs on the top of my list.

Don't worry Sherry, you're never in danger of being unfollowed! I also understand that regular followers have busy periods where comments are few and that's ok. I just hate spending two months following and commenting on new blogs and getting no response at all!
