Chuckles Chat #88 Horror Month-Zombies

Welcome to Chuckles Chat where great blogging minds unite to discuss the topics of the day mainly in the book and blogging world. I'll be sharing my thoughts on a topic and then inviting you all to share your thoughts. It's ok to disagree but PLEASE be respectful of each other's views! All of the comments on my blog are moderated and offensive posts ie racist, bigoted will not be published!

NB: I don't follow or leave comments on blogs run by Google Plus, or DISQUS as I refuse to join something just to leave comments, and I won't allow them to follow new people, update my profile or post tweets 'on my behalf'. I won't comment on any blog that makes me sign in using another account.

I'm spending a few months looking at the books I enjoyed in various categories within genres and asking all of you to share all your favourites in each one too. Hopefully we'll find new books and authors to try. This about books we love so please, no lists of books you hated!

And now it is time for one of my favourite ever horror subjects...zombies and zombie style monsters! I can never get enough of these kinds of books!

    1. I could fill another blog post with the rest of the TBR to be honest! But I haven't read a zombie book in ages!

  4. Wow, that's a long Zombie list! And I can actually add two fun stories that I've read: I Wore Heels To The Apocalypse by C H Clepitt and Since The Sirens by E E Isherwood

    1. I did read a prequel to Since the Sirens but haven't ventured into the actual series. I don't generally read zombie humour though as I like the tense and gory stuff!

  5. I'm not much of a Zombie reader, I do enjoy the movies. I've listened to Feed (The Newsflesh Trilogy Series #1) by Mira Grant and thought it was really interesting, I think it may have been young adult. I would like to continue with the series on audiobook.

    1. I need to watch more zombie films...we have a lot in the house that I haven't seen yet! I did look at Feed a while back. I don't read many YA zombies though-I go for the adult gore!

  6. I'm so not good with zombies, one of the few I don't care for unless done really well. I think it's the gore

    1. I was always scared of the idea of zombies as a kid and it sort of grew into an obsession!

  7. What a fabulous collection. I am the opposite of Jovita. I can read zombie books but I don't care for the movies. I find it so easy to get lost in the written word that sometimes I forget most of the ones I read are fiction. lol

    1. There is nothing like a really tense zombie book with lots of action, near misses for our heroes and people being chomped! Some of the films are poor because of cheap special effects and dreadful acting! I prefer the books too!

  8. I love that we like some of the same books but are opposite for other things! Like I don't usually read Zs! I haven't read the first one yet I think. Even Dread Nation I'm procrastination because the Zs LOL

    1. I've heard that there aren't that many zombies in Dread Nation and that it focuses more on the racism side of things so you might do ok with that one. Sounds like not enough zombies for me to read it though!

  9. I haven't read a lot of zombie books, but I did want to get Forest of Hands and Teeth. Winter's Salvation has a cool cover!

    1. The saga of the film for The Forest of Hands and Teeth is turning into the film version of The Winds of Winter saga! It has been promised for so long but never seems to come!
