Nonfiction November-Your Year in Non-Fiction

I've seen a couple of my blogging friends taking part this year and as I always enjoy a bit of non-fiction, I decided it was time to give it a try!

As well as trying to read some non-fiction this month, our hosts will be leading a discussion post each week so we can talk about the books too.The first discussion is about the year we have had in non-fiction.

I read a decent amount of non fiction each year. I enjoy various kinds like political memoirs and diaries, mountain expeditions, sharks, dinosaurs, Tudor and Plantagenet, biographies of people who interest me, cryptids, disasters, prepper non fiction, and anything on my favourite TV shows ie American Ninja Warrior, Buffy, Game of Thrones, The West Wing etc.

Take a look back at your year of nonfiction and reflect on the following questions – What was your favorite nonfiction read of the year?  Do you have a particular topic you’ve been attracted to more this year?  What nonfiction book have you recommended the most? What is one topic or type of nonfiction you haven’t read enough of yet?  What are you hoping to get out of participating in Nonfiction November?

1-Favourite NF reads of this year?

2-Particular Topic more attracted to this year?
I've wanted to read more political books this year as I love the subject. I read a few Royal NF's for a challenge which was fun!

3-What NF book have you recommended the most?
I'm not really a recommender of books to be honest. I tend to try and write reviews that will have people deciding for themselves if they want to read the book or not. I don't try to influence what others read.

4-A topic of NF you haven't read enough of?
I can't really say there is one. I tend to read what interests me and that is the topics I already mentioned. If I had unlimited time I'd read more of each topic I like but generally I'm happy with the subjects I read about now.

5-What do you hope to get out of this challenge?
A couple of blogging friends are doing the challenge so I figured it would be fun to join in with them. I'm hoping that being in the challenge keeps me motivated to get some NF done this month towards my goal of reducing the TBR.

  1. I really meant to read more NF this year as it's one of my favorite genres but one I kind of ignore.

    1. I didn't realise I had so many NF in my house so I need to start reading a lot more of it to clear some space!

    1. I'm trying to juggle three new challenges this month which could be tricky! I've already got two done for this challenge though!
