Welcome to my new feature Chuckles Weekend Roundup where I will be looking at what books I've received, anything interesting I've done or bought or watched and other random stuff. I'll be taking a look back at what happened in my blogging world too, sort of like The Sunday Post that some of you do!
Please note that I'll be visiting your STS/SP as normal, but I don't follow or leave comments on blogs run by Google Plus, or DISQUS as I refuse to join something just to leave comments, and I won't allow DISQUS to follow new people, update my profile or post tweets 'on my behalf'. I am the only one who does that on my social media! I won't comment on any blog that makes me sign in using another account. Sometimes, I have problems leaving messages on blogs hosted by Wordpress-they try to block me because I deleted my account with them but I will persevere as it only happens the odd time!

Well it's been one of those weeks (isn't it always??!!) where I have tons to do but don't seem to get round to getting things done! The shopping is done so no need to venture out during the festives, medication has been stocked up, so just the basics like milk to be bought at the local shops as and when we need it. I wanted to get all the housework done but the house is still a disaster area since the sofa arrived so I'm getting a bit twitchy! The good news is that I'm halfway through A Feast For Crows but haven't had much time for reading this week. I've received my last order from Amazon for the year so no more books until January except ebooks of course. Still no snow for us but the weather can do what it likes now as we have everything we need! Bit cold but nothing unexpected for December.

Chuckles Blogging World
Blogging has been a bit manic this week. I've been blogging ahead on my regular posts right into mid-January so I can concentrate on the challenge posts, book tags and festive things on the blog next week. It also gives me more time to deal with cooking the festive food and watching some sport and maybe a few dvds. So I'll catch up on my blog visits and comments today as normal. All the posts on my blogging world have a handy link to take you straight to it if you missed anything.

I haven't had much time for reading this week but I'm now halfway through A Feast For Crows. Not as excited by the amount of stuff set in Dorne and the Iron Isles but still a good read. I just need more time to get it finished!

Good luck with finishing A Feast for Crows! I ordered A Clash of Kings, but I’m still waiting for it. It snowed here, so everything is slow, including the mail deliveries.

I just need more time to get really stuck in but time is a bit of a luxury at the moment that I don't have. I'm trying to get blog posts constructed-I've got my regular posts done, just need to work on year roundups and stats, end of year survey and my challenges for the new year!
DeleteYeah, it's been one of those weeks for me too! It's definitely the holiday rush, it feels like I have so much to do and not enough time to do it, and frustratingly the weather has not been cooperating with all the snow.

I don't even have that or work as an excuse! I'm trying to get the blog and housework up to date and that is bad enough! Chuckles is useless at running a household!
DeleteGot some good books, I see! I've got all of my shopping done and stocked up on groceries too. Four more weeks days and then I'm off til the new year. Can't wait!
ReplyDeleteI bet you're really looking forward to your time off! It feels good when all the essentials are done. You'd think there was an apocalypse on the way the people seem to panic at the idea of shops being closed for a day or two-image if an EMP hit! I'll be doing a regular prepper post next year on the blog. Need to get working on that!
DeleteOh, I hate it when in the lead-up to Christmas there's still so much housework to do. I wish it'd just do itself! Hope you get more time for reading in the upcoming week!

I wasn't crazy about the Dorne stuff in A Feast for Crows either. Kinda boring.
Yeah the Dorne stuff is dull and too many viewpoints from the Greyjoys. I'd rather have Asha and Euron.
DeleteSome weeks it just seem like it is impossible to get stuff done. I am sure you will get your new sofa sorted out soon. I have had Elvis and the Dearly Departed on my kindle since 2011 but haven't read it yet. I will be curious about your thoughts on it. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI am enjoying the sofa so I think we made a good choice with it. Just a bit too big! My computer desk is marooned in the middle of the floor and causing traffic jams on the way to the kitchen! I'll be reading that Peggy Webb book for Barb's dog challenge in February...

DeleteOh I really hope you like the Elvis book. It will be a great one for you to read in February for my doggy challenge/readathon. I've read the first three and while I'm sure they aren't great literature, they sure are a lot of fun! Yea for Hunter Shea. He has quite the cult following :)

DeleteI think is awesome you stock up for the winter! I should do that! now that you have that covered I'm sure you feel more relaxed and ready to tackle the housework! Have a great productive week and if the housework gets in the way of reading... just ditch it ;-)
