Chuckles Chuntering

I got back online a couple of hours ago and dealt first with my email and then I started going through the blog posts that you guys have been putting up in the last week or so. I'll continue with that tomorrow and answer the comments that you've left on my blog while I've been away. I've moderated everything and will get back to you all sometime tomorrow!

Y'know the whole point of taking a week off was to have a total rest and put my feet up, chill out and get a pile of reading done. Um, not a roaring success because I ended up away on a surprise holiday with my dad in Blackpool! That meant a ton of walking, shopping and carrying heavy bags back to the hotel so I already need a rest to recover! I didn't read a single thing because I was knackered every night! We did have a great time though and I'll be doing a couple of posts about it tomorrow. I'm ashamed to say...*ahem* that I bought an entire rucksack full of books while I was away. Shocking, I know but in my defence, most were from charity shops and book sales! Blackpool is GREAT for books!

My dad was even worse. He came back with four full bags of dvds and cds from the charity shops and I have no idea where we're going to put it all! He was out of control but it made him happy so that's ok! I got some dvds as well including the blu ray dvd boxsets of Game of Thrones season 6 and 7! Well, it was a holiday after all. I also bought a Vikings box set. Has anyone been watching Vikings on TV or DVD? It looks good anyway.

Normal service will be resumed at The Book Cave during the week and I'll be back with my usual posts the rest of this week. *waves*

    1. It was full of politics, historical fiction and a touch of dystopian and fantasy!

    1. I didn't know how much I needed a change of scenery for the week! I'm doing nothing for the rest of this week and then it is time to look back at what I need to do in the garden! I do enjoy shopping for the fun things!

  3. Sounds like you had a great time! And yay for new stuff. :) I've been wanting to watch Vikings, I think I watched the first few episodes ages ago, but never kept on for one reason or another. I love Viking stuff though and need to get back to it!

    1. Vikings sounds like it has the in-fighting and betrayals and battles that I loved in GoT so I really hope I enjoy it!

  4. Your dad cracks me up, but it is hard to resist good, inexpensive DVD's and CD's!

  5. I’m glad you had a fun trip! I have a hard time controlling myself at book sales, too. Books are too tempting!

  6. I think the holiday sounds great! :) Sometimes it's good to get a week away from reading altogether, especially when you're in any kind of slump.

    1. I'm wondering the same thing! They are on a pile on the floor at the moment! More shelves aren't an option sadly as thetre is nowhere to put it so I guess I need to speed up with the reading!

    1. It was a good holiday but I hated coming back to housework, tidying and catching up on everything.
