Ugh it is just so HOT this week! I'm not really a summer kind of girl at the best of times! I'd hoped warmer weather would mean more time to paint but my dad wants to sand the two fences first and it's too warm even to do that! No outdoor work this week!
On the bright side I've been staying cool and unfrazzled indoors! I haven't really been online much this week because I treated myself to a Game of Thrones painting by numbers kit, which I was putting by for autumn or winter fun. However the instructions said to use up the paint within a month so I sort of had to get on with it straight away! It has been surprisingly stressful as I needed a magnifying glass to see the bloody numbers but overall I'm pleased with the way it looks. It's that classic scene where Tormund turns his charm and goofy grin on the unimpressed Brienne! I love that scene! Note the mess I've made around the borders!
I might get a few more of these kits for the winter as a few fun projects but the problem now is, what to do with this one! I have a lack of wall space at the moment!
Tonight the plan is just to drink lots of cold lime fizzy juice, a box of Tunnock's teacakes and Mr Kipling cakes-those Viennese Whirls, reading a nice political book or some sharks, and hopefully getting a breeze in my bedroom window!
Winter is coming! (I hope...)
I'm not one who likes summer either and we haven't even had our hottest days yet. Next month will be a boiler around here. Last year at this time were were already at 117F (47C) and that was just to darn hot for me.

DeleteI love the picture - where did you get it? I will always adore Tormund. I know what you mean about the weather. We've had 90's most of the week and Cass does not understand why we can't walk when Mommy gets home from work and why we have to wait until later. Cool Lime fizzy juice sounds good. Stay inside, stay cool as you can, and read some shark books!
ReplyDeleteI grabbed it on Amazon-I just put Game of Thrones painting by numbers in the search engine and there are lots of great options! I'm so glad Tormund didn't die and was reunited with Jon! I'm miserable with the heat today and it is only 9.30 am! I'm so not a summer person!
DeleteThis is the first cool summer I've been in for decades and I'm loving it. We did have one short heatwave and it sucks not having a/c everywhere like I did in FL.

Housesover here don't have AC as standard and it is too pricy to buy in for a few days of heat every year! I could do with it today though!

DeleteAwesome paint by numbers. I did a lot of those when I was a kid, but never a GoT one. Mine were all of animals. It’s been in the 90s here for the last few days. I hate summer. It’s too hard to get stuff done when it’s that hot.

ReplyDeleteWould that be Barr's lime juice? I haven't had it in years! It's strange sometimes the things you miss without even being conscious of it. My son was utterly bemused when I told him about juice in glass bottles that you could return to the shop when empty for 20p... Do they still do that or have they stopped?
Yes, Barr's Lime! I really do like it! I haven't bought a glass bottle up here in many years but I don't think they do it now. There were rumours of getting money back on bottles including platic ones but I haven't seen it happen.
DeleteNO, NO don't say winter is coming. I don't want it to. I rather the hot, hot, hot summer. Enjoy it before it's to cold to do anything and you can't go outside cause there is a blizzard.

I don't go out much except necessary shopping trips so the change of seasons doesn't affect me much! I prefer the cooler weather, reading in front of the fire!
