Chuckles Weekend Roundup

Welcome to my feature Chuckles Weekend Roundup where I will be looking at what books I've received, anything interesting I've done or bought or watched and other random stuff. I'll be taking a look back at what happened in my blogging world too, sort of like The Sunday Post that some of you do!

Please note that I'll be visiting your STS/SP as normal, but I don't follow or leave comments on blogs run by Google Plus, or DISQUS as I refuse to join something just to leave comments, and I won't allow DISQUS to follow new people, update my profile or post tweets 'on my behalf'. I am the only one who does that on my social media! I won't comment on any blog that makes me sign in using another account. Sometimes, I have problems leaving messages on blogs hosted by Wordpress-they try to block me because I deleted my account with them but I will persevere as it only happens the odd time!

Another week bites the dust and it has been busy here. I've been working on my room, just gradually moving little bits and pieces into a better place so it's nearly done now. More stuff to chuck out and shred which is always a laugh (not). I did however manage to read the Mary Trump book. It was well written and shines a light onto her family but to be honest it wasn't what I expected. It was mostly about the bad treatment her dad got from his parents and not as much on Donald as I was expecting. OK read but will go to the charity shop when it finally opens. I'm pleased to get a whole hardback book read as it took a few days to get through.

I've also been focused on getting things done around the house, clearing snow, cleaning up after squirrels and trying to keep calm as my neighbour decides my bin is hers to stuff full. I'm getting bin locks and bloody CCTV if that's what it bloody takes! Anyway, trying to chill out tonight and calm down! Grrr, I hate Saturday bin day!!!

Chuckles Blogging World
I did a bit of a catchup during the week as I fell behind on comments this year. Sorry about that. Hope to get on with blog visits this weekend.

The Week Ahead
I'm reading a brilliant behind the scenes of Game of Thrones book and I'm three chapters in. I hope to take a couple of days to read this 439 page book and then see where my mood takes me. I also hope to do a few fun posts-maybe the famous pie charts that fell victim to my having norovirus at Christmas, and a couple of book tags. We'll see!

    1. I think I've lived with mess and chaos in my house for about ten years, especially my bedroom so I just finally got so fed up with it! I just want to get all the unwanted stuff to charity shops but it could be summer before they open again here. Grr! I love the GoT dragons for sure!

  2. I felt the same way about the Mary Trump book. It’s advertised as being about Donald, but it’s really not. I hope you have a good week!

Aj @ Read All The Things!

    1. Her family sounds a bit Addams Family to me! Not a great bunch overall are they so you can see what young Donald had to contend with. But had I known the content, I wouldn't honestly have bought it. It was a little disappointing.

  3. Using your bin is just rude. I've been moving things around my bedroom as well.

    1. Yes they are nice neighbours to live beside apart from that bin issue, so we don't want to start a big feud with them. These bin locks seem very good so we'll get them secured from now on and that should solve the problem. I used to find moving stuff and clearing things as a form of therapy but now it's just a horrible chore!

  4. I guess you have small trash bins? Ours are huge so we don't have this same issue. I am sorry you are having to deal with inconsiderate neighbors. Yay for getting a book read. I hope ou have a great week, Chuckes!

    1. Our bins each hold about 240 litres-about waist height and each house has four different ones. My annoyance is when I'm so careful about sorting and rinsing stuff and putting it in the right bin and then some bugger comes along and chucks anything into it!

  5. "neighbour decides my bin is hers to stuff full" Seriously? Wow, that's brassy! And that's interesting about the Trump book.

    1. My dad and I rip up delivery boxes into flat pieces to get more in but she just folds hers so they are huge and bulky and her bins always overflow compared to ours! They are nice neighbours in every other way and we don't want a bin war so this new lock should solve the issue!

  6. Ugh, we have neighbour/bins problems too. It's such a pain.

    1. This is why I get mad about them fining you for having the wrong stuff in your bin. Half the time it is someone else dumping their crap in your bin!

  7. Ack, pressed send before I was done! Good luck with the bin locks -- we've been thinking about that too!

    1. We're trying one that doesn't need drilled on so we can just remove it each morning when we can see the bins and lock it each night. I'm forever sending messages before I'm done too!

  8. I’m looking forward to the charity shops opening up, I’ve a lot of books I need out the house.

    1. I've got bags of books, clothes, cds and dvds plus a few bags for the rubbish dump! You don't realise what you take for granted until you can't do it! Charity shops are one of those things.

  9. You have the worst problems with that bin. It just doesn't seem right that it should create such stress for you. Hope it works out. Our neighbor hit Mr. Barb's car last week and failed to mention it to us so we ended up calling the cops to investigate because we suspected it was her. It wasn't a lot of damage and we ended up buffing it out, but for God's sake, have some courtesy and tell us! Hope your week gets better!

    1. I now have four bin locks, one for each that we have. They'll be locked each night then released each day to allow us to use them! We've locked up the first two and I'll get the other two later. I want to sit up all night and see her face when she tries to use it!!! She'll get a shock next time she tries to open one! Ugh what is it with neighbours??? Why couldn't they just let you know and say sorry!
