Chuckles Weekend Roundup

Welcome to my feature Chuckles Weekend Roundup where I will be looking at what books I've received, anything interesting I've done or bought or watched and other random stuff. I'll be taking a look back at what happened in my blogging world too, sort of like The Sunday Post that some of you do!

Please note that I'll be visiting your STS/SP as normal, but I don't follow or leave comments on blogs run by Google Plus, or DISQUS as I refuse to join something just to leave comments, and I won't allow DISQUS to follow new people, update my profile or post tweets 'on my behalf'. I am the only one who does that on my social media! I won't comment on any blog that makes me sign in using another account. Sometimes, I have problems leaving messages on blogs hosted by Wordpress-they try to block me because I deleted my account with them but I will persevere as it only happens the odd time!

What a week! My dad and I decided that with some bad weather hitting the UK in the form of rain, wind and a winter storm, we'd crack onwith some work around the house. We got a lot done this week but our backs are suffering for it right now! Still, the worst of the furniture moving is over and now it's about sorting what goes to the rubbish dump, the charity shops and what finds a new place in our home! Overall we're getting there. The down side is that I haven't read much this week but I've got two days until my next weekly roundup so if I can fit in two books by then I'll be happy enough!

Today, as I write, I'm watching coverage of the Royal Wedding of Eugenie and Jack. Coverage isn't as in depth as Harry and Meghan so far but I always like seeing the guests and Royal Family arrive and then the carriage procession! I'm also gloating over a few booky treats that have arrived this week that I'm excited about getting! Well, I had a hard week so I'm entitled to some booky fun! Hopefully I'll soon have a post with my Book Cave and it's shelves on display now that things are pretty much done.

Since my last update I've read and enjoyed Cryptid Zoo and Wildlife Reckoning. I'm now reading DMZ. I haven't had much time for reading with everything that has been going on!

    1. I'd be enjoying the weekend if my back would settle down! Still, that's the last of the furniture moving done so now it's helping my dad move his cds into position and a few other bits and pieces...

  2. I heard about that wedding online, but I don’t think they’re showing it on TV here. I guess we only get to see the really big royal weddings. I hope you enjoy your new books!

    1. BBC decided not to cover the wedding which was silly as 3-4 million people in the UK watched it on ITV! People keep saying she is a minor royal but Eugenie is the Queen's granddaughter, just as Harry and William are her grandsons, so there was always going to be major interest. Pity the coverage was poor though!

  3. I hope the weather doesn't get too bad for you. I missed all of the effects from Hurricane Michael so that was good. I wasn't anywhere near ready for that.

    Have a good weekend!

    1. It's been a bit wild but nothing like those horrible hurricanes thankfully. It's quite calm here today so I hope the worst is over! I'm glad you weren't affected by Michael-that's good news!

    1. My next Halloween Horrorfest update is due tomorrow so that was two books in two days which is proving impossible when I'm so tired. I'll be lucky to get the one done!

  5. I guess I am not surprised that Eugenie's wedding is not getting as much attention as Harry's and William's, but I think I saw maybe 2 or 3 pictures here in the states. One article I saw only talked about how two of Harry's exes were in attendance.

    1. The media are obsessed with Harry and William because they are the sons of Prince Charles but Prince Andrews daighters receive less attention as they further away in the line of succesion!

  8. I feel your pain with lugging furniture around and sorting keep/charity/sell/throw piles! We close on our new house next week and that's all we're doing in the spare time. I've barely had time to do anything else! :(

  12. I am glad you got something around the house done. I know how that can be. I have been trying to re-do my bookshelves and I just can't seem to get around to it with school, work and normal life. I am glad you got some bookish treats for all your hard work. I hope both of your backs feel better!

    1. Sorting bookcases is surprisingly time consuming and tiring especially with real life stuff going on too!
