This is turning into another difficult week. I'm getting stuck into the rest of the house stuff. Yesterday was a very busy day. My dad was unpacking boxes of cds and starting to sort what has to go to the bedroom and what goes to the hall. I decided to get started on the kitchen as there wasn't much I could do to help him. I went through the whole food cupboard checking for anything out of date and getting rid of it-not much thankfully-but that meant crawling about on my poor wonky knees which are throbbing today! Then it was getting rid of cardboard boxes full of things like soda stream concentrate, date checking and getting it stored away. Next was cleaning the shoes and getting them on the shoe rack. Next was getting the floor and all surfaces scrubbed and taking out the rubbish. Ugh! Not fun!
Then in all my wisdom I decided to make home made soup and then cook the dinner and I just had no energy to do more than steep the dishes overnight. For some stupid reason at 9am last night I decided it would be a good idea to strip the bed, turn the mattress (which is a nightmare in that tiny space I have to work with in my bedroom!) and get the clean sheets on. I had to go for a long shower after that and woke up as stiff as a board this morning! My dad was equally tired going up and down stairs with bags and boxes of cds! Today has been no easier. Two loads of washing, battling to get the stupid sheets onto the clothes horse as it is pissing down outside, getting those dishes done from yesterday, hoovering, and cleaning the bathroom. My dad is still battling those boxes and bags!
Needless to say, I have hardly had time to do anything on the computer the last few days. I've not been able to get many posts up but I hope to be back to normal service before the weekend. I'm a couple of days behind in blog visits but I will be there, better late than never!
On the plus side, a guy did come to look at the garden yesterday for the fences. Turns out my dad knows him from years back so MAYBE our luck is changing. He's looking at materials today and will then give us a quote today or tomorrow. I'm just hoping this works out as the weather is really starting to turn here and it's cold every day. I just hope winter holds off long enough to get the fences done!

Man you deserve a break. It's good to have all that stuff done and I'm envious, but take some time to recoup - you deserve it!
ReplyDeleteMy body is falling apart! I'm so tired and sore but it is worth it when I see things looking neat and tidy!
DeleteCleaning is never fun. Good luck! I hope you win the battle in the end.
ReplyDeleteIt does feel like a battle at times but we're definitely winning!
DeleteIt sounds like a lot of hard work but I know it will be worth it when everything is done. Crossing my fingers that you get the fence worked out quickly.
ReplyDeleteI'm now hopeful about the fence. The guy measured yesterday and is to come back tonight with the quote for the job. Fingers crossed!
DeleteI am not looking forward to winter, though here in Florida, I do enjoy our milder weather, for the most part. We have had snow and ice before, but thank goodness it's rare. Sounds like you need a break. I hope you get a chance to sit and relax soon.

I'm looking forward to a restful winter after all this work! We're planning to watch a ton of TV and just relax!
DeleteSorry to hear you are having a difficult week! You are doing such a thorough work no wonder you end up sore! home made soup after all that was definitely a wise decision. So comforting I bet! We miss you but take your time to recover :)
ReplyDeleteThe sooner it's done the sooner I can relax so I'll put up with the aches and keep moaning about it! I'm just about caught up with everything which is good so I'm back on track online!
DeleteYou are a busy little Chuckles!! I bet your house is looking great but give yourself time to rest :)
ReplyDeleteWe've certainly been busy! I've been trying to rest the last couple of days but I keep finding more stuff that needs shifting!
DeleteIt seems like the cleaning never ends. I'm doing some too, in preparation for the holidays. I'm thinking curl up with a good spooky book or movie. You sure sound like you need a break:)
ReplyDeleteThis has been much more tiring than I expected it to be. I swear I could sleep for a week and do nothing if I could...but the ordinary chores stop for nobody! I need a holiday and some booky motivation!
