Here are ten bookish bad guys that I enjoy reading about!
1) Voldemort (Harry Potter)
There's not much I can really say about this guy...
2) Cersei Lannister (ASOI&F)
Ambitious, ruthless and a good deal smarter than a lot of her male counterparts at playing the game. I hate the way she treats Tyrion but I loved the chapters from her viewpoint!
3) Aliyez (Arisen)
He's the guy who makes the biological virus that is mutated by terrorists and starts the zombie apocalypse but he then wants to make a cure. He's hapless, hopeless and funny!
4) Snake Cult (Gavyn Donatti)
These guys are hardcore nasty and want to kill our heroes. They are very dangerous djinn who take the snake form.
5) Adolf Hitler (Wolf by Wolf)
OK so he barely appears in the book but this guy must have killed millions more people in this alternative history plot if he has won the war.
6) Henry VIII
Lying, cheating, breaking his vows, murdering the innocent and chopping off the heads of his wives, friends and enemies alike!
7) Umbrella Corporation (Resident Evil)
This company cares only for profit and because of their stupidity, we get zombie apocalypses, as well as them doing horrific experiments on the survivors.
8) Pennywise (It)
He is scary enough as the clown but when he can shapeshift into any monster he wants and anything that can scare kids, he becomes terrifying!
9) Randall Flagg (The Stand)
The devil in human form ready to destroy all the good in the world, yet appearing as a normal kind of guy. He gives me the creeps!
10) Angelus (Buffy)
I loved the episodes of Buffy where Angel went bad and became his evil alter-ego so to speak!
Ooh, you chose some good ones. Randall Flagg and Cersei are two of my all-time favorites.
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
They are great characters to read about!
DeleteI really likied Queen Levana in the Lunar Chronicles series. I mean...like isn't the right word because she's horrible but she's interesting.
ReplyDeleteKaren @ For What It's Worth
I like villans who are interesting, complex and that maybe have a few redeeming features as it makes them fun to read about. Of course, just plain evil is fun too!
DeletePennywise made my list and Randall Flagg would have too but I've only seen the movie so I didn't add him. I better never run into that snake cult!
ReplyDeleteIt's been a long time since I saw or read The Stand and I'd love to do both! Pennywise is the scariest thing ever!
DeleteI'd have to put the dementors right behind Voldemort. They really creeped me out.
ReplyDeleteYeah I agree with you about them...they are so creepy and horrible!
DeleteI didn't read any of these books, but I know Angelus from Buffy - he was very scary, and Pennywise, who was just terrifying, from TV.
ReplyDeleteI never liked clowns but I certainly hated them after being introduced to Pennywise!
DeleteGreat list! I forgot about Flagg. The Walking Dude!
ReplyDeleteHis normalness is what got to me yet you knew what he really was!
