Books From The Backlog-Zodiac Station

Books from the Backlog is a fun way to feature some of those neglected books sitting on your bookshelf.  You might be surprised by some of the unread books hiding in your stacks. Go to Carole's blog and add your blog post link in to join in the fun! Hosted by Carole at https://carolesrandomlife.blogspot.co.uk/

This seems like a fun feature and I have been planning to take part since Carole launched this so at last, here we go! I have a TON of unread books to choose from in various genres and I'm looking forward to sharing some of them with everybody.

Death waits at the world's end.

Deep inside the Arctic circle, the US Coast Guard icebreaker Terra Nova batters its way through the frozen sea. One day, a gaunt figure skis out of the fog. The crew bring him aboard and give him medical treatment for prolonged exposure, malnutrition - and a gunshot wound.

The man has escaped from ice-bound research station two hundred miles south of the pole. And the tale he tells is one of secrets, insanity and death.

I think I've avoided reading this for so long because of the mixed reviews. It seems that people either love the ending, calling it clever storytelling, or hate it saying there was no resolution. I don't know what to think! However I do enjoy a plot that is full of snow, blizzards or very remote destinations so I do want to read this. It's been on my TBR since May 2017 but I bought it a good few years before that, maybe around 2014 when it first came out. I hope to tackle it during my Snow reads in December or January.

  1. There have been a few books with mixed reviews that I ended up loving. I hope that is what happens for you with this book. It sounds like an exciting story!

    1. It's a good setting for horrors and thrillers! I've got a few with winter and polar type plots to get through!

  3. I like the setting, but I think I'll wait to hear what you think of this one and its ending before I give it a try. ;)

    1. These remote locations are fun! I think I got into that because The Thing is one of my favourite films!
